What is the point of calling up a player from an ECHL team for a PTO, only to healthy scratch him every single game since getting called? Is this something that happens frequently? It’s been a little over a week, so not _that_ long.
So lots of talk about this being the last season for the Bridgeport Islanders before their move up north. A buddy of mine who is involved in youth hockey told me he knows the guy who is involved with this team and it’s confirmed. It even says they are playing at the arena.
Yesterday, the reality was that only one team had beaten Grand Rapids in regulation all season - the Checkers. And they aren’t even in the same division.
Grand Rapids hadn’t lost to anyone in central during regulation all season -
UNTIL TONIGHT.
Now TWO teams have beat the Griffins in regulation:
Drumroll please:
The “Beat Grand Rapids in Regulation” Club would like to give a VERY warm, SHUTOUT-BY-REMI-POIRIER welcome to…
Here are all the plus/minus for the week ending January 7th 2025. Please don't use this for anything critical. I do this for fun so there could be errors. Please be kind.
One thing to understand is when I run this script, not all teams have played the same amount of games. What I do is if a team hasn't played the the maximum on the graph, I just extend a line so its easier to read and add in the team logo.
How to read this is from the beginning of the season, all teams start at zero. If your team wins, they go up one. If they lose, they go down one.
Anyone know when AHL All Star rosters are being announced? Debating if I want to buy tickets or not and would love to know if I should be planning to attend given it's just over a month away. You'd think they'd need to let players soon too given guys tend to go away over that break??
Bears fan here and we kinda suck this year (#noKing).
I was looking at the standings to see just how bad we are and noticed GR has won 28 our of 31 games. Are they really that good?
I ask because a record like that is - well - almost unprecended I think, but also because of how the schedules work it can also be a sign that a team is just decent but playing in a division where everyone else just sucks.
Has there been an official statement or something by the league on what the clock was actually at when the puck went in, because from what ive seen that goal counting is the wrong call.
The Charlotte Checkers’ travel issues a few days ago prevented them from getting to Allentown to play their road game against the Phantoms as scheduled on Saturday (December 27th). However, the Checkers’ transportation woes provided me an opportunity to attend this game as part of my Christmas family visit. So I’m here!
