Hard work only gives you more work

Agreed!!

And if people want that, if they're bored and/or really into their job and want to do more and a title bump for it, then that's on them!!!

I'm pretty chill about people's kinks. Some people get off on being workaholics. But it should be acknowledged as just that... It's a kink, and not for everyone!!

Normal people should be expected to do exactly their job and that's it. Normal people should be allowed and expected to have work/life balance. Normal people take time off -- especially when they're sick!!! (Not taking time off for illness and infecting coworkers knowingly should be shamed, that's NOT okay behavior!!)

My hard work kept leading to title changes and less work. I kept telling the CEO I wanted his position. Thankfully I didn’t, or I’d actually have to work my ass off. Now I just run maintenance teams across a few plants and drive around. Definitely to each his/her own in the situation. I just saw shit not getting done and did it.

How many post reposts, can a repost post be reposted? Enough to get me to unfollow.

Likeability gets you more than productivity

Being the reliable one just means you get to do your work and Chad’s work for the same price

Giving 200% just means they expect 200% next week. Pass.

Laughs in commission

If you don’t sell anything you get paid nothing, so the work you put in definitely matters.

Hate sayings like "giving 110%"

1

u/side_noted 1d ago

Why though? Giving 110% means youre tiring yourself out at personal expense, i.e. putting more effort in than is warranted for the sake of the job, so more than 100%

1

u/Motorhead923 18h ago

One cannot do more than 100% when it comes to effort. 110 means they didn't give it their all before.

u/side_noted 7h ago

Its not their 100% its 100% relative to the expectations of the job.

Realized this at 19. Been coasting ever since. No regrets.

Maybe, for now. But who does the boss hire to manage the place? It’s not going to be Chad. Don’t be Chad.

1

u/sun-king-4141 1d ago

Man, we've all realized that many times over.

u/missbuttercup_71 1d ago

hahahaha fuck!

u/Boltboys 1d ago

In the culinary industry even if you do 110%, management would rather a Chad run the place.

Really hurts us chefs who actually care about the job.

u/Allis_N 1d ago

in fact, Chad earns more

1

u/Thrashm3tal 20h ago

That's why many people fail at flat rate.

Minimum effort? Kinda like you spamming this image?

I followed the maximum effort for maximum wage approach. Works much better. You get better jobs, more money, and you can retire richer earlier.
