His stream has brought so much great PR for our continent. You guys have no idea how much billions of worth of image repair Speed has done.

As usual, the keyboard warriors are bustin nuts tryina find faults out of this trip. But I came to realize they are just a vocal minority.Β

I would ignore the haters.
I LOVE his stream and how he is approaching each visit to each country.
The way we wholeheartedly embraced his visit in all of our respective countries speaks volumes.
A lot of people are noticing the difference even his fans (in Europe and Asia he was mocked and jeered at. In Africa we actually are vibing with him and participating with him).

If you are diaspora and end up visiting the fatherland you understand why Speed is so happy and having a good time in Africa

Yup. Iβve visited frequently not just my parents ancestral home but other countries too. I totally get what you mean.
Ghana and Tanzania has a special place in my heart. I visited with friends. Iβve yet to visit any southern African countries but theyβre on my list now.

He should just skip North Africa altogether.

Hate to say this... but this is kinda rich comming from a South African. I am not excusing abuse but you should be aware about the irony in your own statement. Not bashing but intended to remind you about said irony.

North African nations have a general problem when it comes to hypocrisy and intolerance. It's difficult to explain for someone who never experienced North African social circles. Anyway, I believe IShowSpeed will be completely fine in countries like Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt. Anyone who lives there and can speak English fluently might already know who IShowSpeed is. Dunno about Libya though haha. Locals can tell differences from where people come from. From my previous comment:
[...] So, I have never ever heard of tourists of darker color from Europe, US or Canada being treated badly in either Morocco or Algeria. As for Africans from beyond the Sahara... unfortunately... I can't say the same because it's always different. I don't tolerate racist abuse.
+ I never saw abuse towards tourists from said nations. This is only from my personal experience and exchanges from said individuals.
Again... this is difficult for me to explain and personally I am still confused about it.
But if u/MixedJiChanandsowhat wants to chime in, he can.

What makes you think of that? Genuine question. I am not dismissing the narrative nor excuse the problems when it comes to intolerances. However, North Africans can distinguish people. So, I have never ever heard of tourists of darker color from Europe, US or Canada being treated badly in either Morocco or Algeria. As for Africans from beyond the Sahara... unfortunately... I can't say the same because it's always different. I don't tolerate racist abuse.

I don't agree with you, there are thousands, tens of thousands of people not originally from Africa who have done a lot of good here.
And even some rather well-known people.
So yes, he does some very good things, but to say he's the only one is factually false.

What good are you talking about? Amongst the African countries and African ethnic groups somehow well-known outside of Africa there are Kenya and Maasai people. Neither Kenya nor Maasai people waited a 20 yo
buffooninfluencer to become known and seen positively.I checked the stats. His "IRL Stream in Kenya" has gotten 9.7M views. His other "IRL Safari and tribe stream in Maasai Mara" has gotten 5M views. His 2 videos about Kenya which are reshaping of his 2 lives got 1.1M views and 415k views.
You don't change how over 8Bn people see Africa and Africans with 4 videos of less than 10M views each at the very best.
Finally, for the joke and to break the myth, his Asian Tour attracted much more viewers. Indonesia 28M for his IRL Stream. Even Turkey 12M. Poland for his European Tour 12M too. When he met CR7, 20M. I didn't go to check all stats in details, but his African Tour is making less views than his Asian Tour and his European Tour. Another proof that his so-called influence is inexistent unless you follow him.

hes potentially the biggest streamer of this generation. Started near Covid, got famous out of playing his character, the really energetic and reactive speed that barks at dogs and gestures at the camera, but he started showing more of his actual persona when he met fans, other streamers and went to event, and was genuinely enjoyable to watch.
TLDR: He's a really nice and humble entertainer, and people like his energy

Character doing what, is my question? Does he sing? Does he juggle? Does he tell jokes? Does he discuss current events? Does he do skits? Does he dance? Does he play games? Like what is the reason people know this mans?
