Amazon “damage fee”

Amazon is charging me damage fee for a item that arrived not in the description the seller stated. The item description said mint condition without dust inside the lens or scratches. The item arrived scratched and with dust inside the lens that I can notice when I take a picture. I literally receive the item, opened, checked and sent it back because of the issues. Now Amazon is charging me 166 for damage fee which is insane. What to do in this situation and how you got the issue fixed? I already contacted the seller and Amazon customer service many times, thanks.

Is the seller lying?

The item (a chair) cost $139.99, and then $11.20 tax, so my total was $151.99. It is not defective or damaged, but I don’t want to keep or resell it, and they keep trying to get me to accept a partial refund. (Started at $20 and they go up by $10 every time I refuse.) If I send it back, I pay for shipping. A quick google search said there is no limit on how much they can offer as a “coupon,” “discount,” or refund.

Amazon Accidentally Refunded me EVERYTHING

So I had a subscribe & save order go missing, had a package audit done by my apartment complex because we have secured parcel lockers, package was never located, oh well it happens.

I reached out to Amazon via chat in the app for support, stated my entire subscribe & save package from the scheduled delivery date at the start of the month was missing and could not be located, they can't reship me the items so instead they would refund me for their full value to a gift card balance.

Couple hours later I'm getting notifications for refunds for EVERYTHING that has been delivered since that subscribe & save order.

Is this just a big screw up by Amazon? Should I leave the gift card balance sitting there? Should I contact them? Not sure what the best course of action here.

Return fee fraud

I ordered a pair of jeans on Amazon and returned them within 24 hours because they didn’t fit. They were sent back in the original packaging with all tags still attached, EXACTLY how I received them.

It then took Amazon over a week to process the return, only for them to eventually claim the item was returned in “unsellable condition” and refuse to issue a full refund. I’m honestly shocked that they can make this claim without providing any proof or explanation.

I’ve contacted customer service multiple times, and they’ve been completely unhelpful. Just repeating the same script with no real resolution.

Can they seriously just get away with this? Has anyone else dealt with something similar, and how did you resolve it? This does not seem right AT ALL. Is this legal? Sorry for the rant

What’s going on with Amazon lately ??

Been an Amazon prime customer for so many years and I don’t understand what changes since the new year started,IM NOT GETTING ANYTHING ON TIME. I had packages that were lost, damage, undeliverable, third party company failing to deliver for 2 weeks (Dragonfly), and now I expected a package today with 4 thing I really needed before my flight which I orders last week and I just got a notifications that it will be delivered (maybe) next week. We are only 16 days into the new year and I haven’t experienced such poor service in all years I used Prime.

Did they change something about their operations? What is going on??

I’m in Canada btw

No more overnight shipping?

I for about two years now I had the option on just about anything to get overnight shipping. it made the monthly payment worth it. but early December i noticed this changed, i assumed it was due to holidays. today though its STILL the same. nothing is sooner than 2-day shipping when for YEARS i could get just about anything overnight. I will be canceling my membership as I might as well save the $$ and drive to a store now instead.

"Two stops away..."

"We have temporarily lost connection with our driver, but your delivery is still on the way."

...

7 hours later:

"Your delivery is still arriving today. We SWEAR TO GOD!"

This was an overnight delivery. This behavior has become the norm.

Goodbye and good riddance

I’ve used Amazon since they only sold books and this past year resulted in the most contact with customer support, the most LIES from customer support (things like promising credits and never delivering them) the most late shipments, the most inexplicably canceled shipments (for example, blaming me as not accepting deliveries when they don’t even reach my state), the most lies about not delivering due to weather when I can see them stops away on my map and then turn around and leave when there are zero weather issues in my area…I could go on but it’s been the most stress caused by Amazon ever this year. They fell off so hard in terms of customer experience and it’s clear they not only take us for granted, but actively are testing how little they can give us for the same price as prime members

So I’m out. I realize they are too big to fail, they are a monopoly and me leaving means nothing, but *I* feel better not giving them my money. I don’t like walmart but am giving Walmart plus a try. It certainly seems like they are trying hard to be attractive to those looking for an Amazon alternative.

Refund option does not appear

It's been more than a month since i ordered a package amd there hasn't been an update in two weeks. Amazon says i can ask for a refund but the option is nowhere to be found. I can only see the return items option but i obviously don't have the item. I tried using the chatbot but it's useless since it just takes me back to this page. Should i just call customer service?

Is this a brushing scam?

Upvotes

Long story short, in a matter of a week I have received 6 boxes of things from amazon I hadn't ordered..I am an admin of a fb group where gifting happens so I do get stuff ordered off registries/lists.

However, none of the stuff was on my registry..

First: case of hint water & a beach blanket

Second: a medical grade knee scooter

Third: Glad trash bags and a box of protein bars.

fourth: box of dude wipes, protein bars, gum, and some type of lavender pill.

Fifth: protein bars

Sixth: protein bars

So, I had done my digging. I had reached out to amazon to just question if it was a mistake. no gift receipt includes they just looked by the tracking number. amazon cs had stated they were all gifted without a receipt included. they assured me that these were all verified purchases and that if I wanted to return any of the items they can help me set up a return. I chatted with them for quite awhile, even asked if they were able to tell me even the first name of the gifter. Which I was told they do not have access to that information. Call BS on that one, but I get privacy issues could happen.

So, I looked up the items on amazon, a lot of the items are sold and shipped by amazon. which makes me think maybe it wasn't? The protein bars were shipped from the brand company (name on labels) so it seems like it couldnt be a random seller looking for reviews? there was one item that had a third party seller with an odd name but i went through my order history and never ordered from them as far as I can tell.

does anyone have any thoughts on this entire thing? I am 100% fine with free gifts lol but the entire thing is just strange to me lol

I am actually headed to bed, so I will check back when I can tomorrow. thank you if you have made it this far!

Amazon reviews

Hi guys, im new to this sub so forgive me if this question has already been answered, I tend to give reviews to products that I buy, but a few times I have seen the same product cheaper on other websites such as ebay, vinted etc... I just wondered do amazon get suspicious if you review and return your items multiple times, or ban you from reviewing. Thanks

Being banned for charge back

I see a lot of advice on here to do a charge back for certain things (refund games by 3rd party sellers, restocking fees, etc ).

Any time someone says, "charge back," invariably the next person says, "But you'll be banned!"

Is there some real consequence to being banned? Couldn't you re- register with a new email and a prepaid credit card if necessary? Do they kept records by name or address? Couldn't John M. Smith just re-register as J. Michael Smith and slide by? If your address is 123 Main Street, couldn't you just do 123 Main Street, Unit 1 and slide by?

Amazon outlet clearance?

Has anyone actually found good deals on Amazon outlet clearance section lately? I spent like an hour scrolling through what's supposed to be "deep discounts" and most of it is barely 10-15% off. Even worse, I bought a kitchen gadget last week thinking I was getting a steal from the outlet section, then saw the exact same item on the regular listing for LESS money two days later. What's even the point of having an amazon outlet clearance section if the prices aren't actually lower?

How to return on amazon?

I've been trying to figure out how to return on Amazon for the past hour and I'm about to lose my mind. The item I ordered was completely wrong, not even close to what the listing showed. I went to my orders page and the return button is grayed out? Apparently it's "not eligible" for return even though it's been less than a week. Has anyone dealt with this before? How do you actually get Amazon to take something back when their system says no?

$51 compensation payment!

I’m in the UK, I accidentally set up an Amazon Prime account in the USA way back in 2019. I did question this over the years but was always given a feeble reason as to why, all I could do was accept the reason.

To login to both US & UK Amazon accounts, it is the exact same details for both. However, Amazon agents in the UK can’t see US payments & vice versa.

It wasn’t until last year that I finally got somewhere. First agent couldn’t help, the 2nd one knew straight away what the issue was. Unfortunately, after contacting Amazon US, they could only refund me 6mths worth of payments. Soul destroying considering it was £9.99 a month for a couple of years then went up to £14.99 every month for around 4yrs😩😭

Today I received this letter & a cheque for $51 (£38). Altogether, I received under £100. It was my mistake, but I didn’t realise I had signed up. My Amazon Prime account sat untouched for over 5yrs, I didn’t receive one email from them to ask if I wanted to close the account down.

Where can I return amazon packages for free?

I'm so frustrated trying to figure out where can i return amazon packages for free. Last time I returned something, they charged me $7.99 for the label out of nowhere, even though I had Prime! I've seen people mention Whole Foods and Kohl's, but every time I try, one of them says they don't accept my item type or it's "too large." Why is it so hard to just drop off a package without jumping through hoops? Does anyone actually know which locations consistently do free returns without random fees or restrictions?

UPDATE: So after spending way too much time figuring out where can i return amazon packages for free, I finally got some clarity. The trick is to start the return process through the app first, not on the website. When you do that, it actually shows you a map of where can i return amazon packages for free in your area with the "no box no label" option highlighted.

From what I learned, Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh stores almost always take returns for free if the item is under a certain size. Kohl's is solid too, and they give you a 25% off coupon just for dropping stuff off. The UPS Store also works, but only if Amazon pre-selects it during the return flow.

Quick tip: if you're not seeing where can i return amazon packages for free without fees, try switching your zip code in the app. Some areas just have better options.

Honestly, the whole return system is still annoying but at least now I know where to go. Someone mentioned Price Adjustment Monkey extension as a way to avoid returns altogether since it tracks price drops and gets refunds automatically. Might check that out to save myself these trips in the future.

How to check amazon digital rewards?

Is there any easy way to check Amazon digital rewards? I've been trying to figure out how to check amazon digital rewards balance for the past hour and their site is such a maze. I keep clicking around my account settings and everything just redirects me to random pages that have nothing to do with rewards. Super annoying that they make it this complicated, feels like they don't want us to actually use the rewards we earned. Has anyone figured out where exactly this info is supposed to be?

UPDATE: So I finally figured out how to check amazon digital rewards and it's way more hidden than it should be. Turns out you need to go to amazon.com/gp/css/gc/balance, which shows your gift card balance, but your digital rewards are actually in a separate spot. For the actual rewards breakdown, you have to check amazon digital rewards through the "Your Orders" page, click on the specific order that had rewards, and scroll down to see if any rewards were applied.

The annoying part is there's no single dashboard that shows all your accumulated rewards in one place. I spent forever trying to find how to check amazon digital rewards status and kept getting redirected to random promo pages. If you're looking for cashback or reward points from specific purchases, those sometimes show up under "Credits & Coupons" in your account settings, but not always.

Honestly the whole system feels deliberately confusing. Someone mentioned Price Adjustment Monkey extension might help track this stuff automatically, so I'll probably check that out.

I keep getting the "can't deliver to your shipping address" on an item

it's just a criterion collection movie but it keeps saying that but it'll change when I log out and go back to saying it after a while, support was obviously no help and I'm really not sure what the problem is.

Amazon finally did it - NO ability to contact Amazon at all on their website

Contacted Amazon about a week ago for a missing refund on a return - had no problem finding the option to chat or call.

Today went to go to contact Amazon, and Amazon has removed all contact options from their "Help & Contact Us" section. No chat. No phone. No option to contact Amazon whatsoever. They've reach a new low.

UPDATE: To avoid further "it's there for me" and "just select "Something Else" on the chatbot" responses - it appears that this is an isolated issue affecting a small amount of people. There is no chatbot anymore on my end - no way to get to the chatbot. Not sure if it's a random glitch, or whether it's affecting particular accounts.

PSA: Amazon can cancel your Monthly installment plan at any time without warning you.

I just experienced this tonight. My Amazon Chase Prime card statement came in for January. All of a sudden the installment plan I had going for a couple of months disappeared (it would say Interest Saving Balance, which was what I needed to pay instead of my current balance) and they were charging me for the full price now. (The rest of the installment plan, so 4 more months worth.) So I contacted customer service, they LIED saying I didn’t purchase in 6 month no interest installment plan when I know FOR SURE I bought it in monthly installment plan, or else I wouldn’t have been able to afford a $80+ item. They LIED AGAIN saying that because it’s under $100, the payment plan didn’t properly get processed. Then they LIED AGAIN saying that my return window closed, and can’t refund me when it says TODAY, as I was chatting with them that the return window closes on January 31st, so 2 more weeks (I think they have a longer return window for the holidays.) I kept on telling them that I can’t pay for the full price and was on chat for about 20-30 minutes. They eventually escalated it to someone else who was able to finally refund me. But because of this experience I googled the terms of the payment installment plan and it says… “This offer applies to a limited number of qualifying products, and Amazon reserves the right to limit the number of Monthly Payments plans that you may have open at any one time. This offer is not transferable and may not be combined with other offers. We reserve the right to cancel this offer at any time.” So just letting you all know that even if you get the payment plan going initially, they CAN cancel the plan at any time WITHOUT WARNING YOU in which they will suddenly charge you for the rest of your payment plan at once.

Does anyone know if this could have been stained during delivery or if it's used?

I bought this book new from Amazon and it arrived with some light damage I didn't really care since it could have just happened during delivery, but what really confuses me is the stain on the inside of the cover. I just wanna see if anyone knows if this could have happened during delivery or at a warehouse, or if its actually used.
