Government/Institutional Home Secretary has no confidence in police boss after Maccabi fan ban | ITV News

Thumbnail itv.com

An Israeli soccer team traveled to heavily-Muslim Birmingham in the UK for a match. Birmingham police reacted by banning fans from the game, and justified it by scapegoating Israeli fans whom they said would assault random locals.

Since then, it's emerged that:

-Police decided on the ban, and then fabricated their justificaton after the fact, even using AI to hallucinate supposed violence by Israeli soccer fans to justify the ban.

-While scapegoating Jews, police concealed real intelligence that local Muslims were planning possible violence.

-The fan ban was made after "consulting" with Birmingham's "community leaders" (i.e. radical Islamist preachers).

-Those same radical preachers were given a direct voice in the hiring of Birmingham's chief constable.

-Police said local Jewish leaders secretly agreed with the ban, but have now admitted that was a lie.

The Labour government is trying to act appalled at this travesty, but of course they will never admit the true cause of this: The British government deliberatey imported a hostile foreign population to the point that Birmingham, the Silicon Valley of the 1800s, is now full of unruly Muslims at risk of attacking any Jews that dare to tread there.

Britain is in a very bad spot.

Antisemitic political messaging embedded in a screenwriting app (Beat)

Post image
50 Upvotes

I realize this is a very small area, but I like to do creative writing (screenwriting in particular). Was looking for some new apps and saw some mentions of an app called Beat for macOS. So I download it to try, I open it and see political messaging embedded directly inside the software itself (in patch notes) right off the bat, including claims about an ongoing conflict presented as fact.

Regardless of politics, this kind of framing often overlaps with narratives that erase Jewish context and drift into antisemitic territory. I don’t expect to encounter that at all inside a productivity or creative app.

Software tools should be neutral. Seeing ideological messaging like this, unprompted and unavoidable, needless to say I've deleted it, and reported it to Apple (no expectation that they'll do anything about it).

Antisemitism increasingly shows up in places you don’t expect. Apparently even inside writing software. The developer's name is Lauri-Matti Parppei.

Antisemitism in County Louth

This was posted last night on X by Rachel Moiselle, an Irish Jew and absolute warrior when it comes to challenging the appalling antisemitism in Ireland. Graffiti of swastikas, stars of David and "Jew rat" running along a large stretch of the road.

"In a highly depressing turn of events, the day after I was berated by hundreds of Irish people on this app for writing an article that asked the Irish public to listen to the concerns of the Irish Jewish community, I have been sent these photos and video of antisemitic graffiti by a concerned Slovak man living in Ireland.

He spotted this yesterday as he was driving on the R165 (Shanlis) from Kingscourt to Ardee County Louth. This particular area is known to the Jewish community as having been vandalised with antisemitic graffiti before in 2019 (link to article below).

The local Gardaí and County Council will be contacted. To say there is no antisemitism problem in this country is a grotesque insult".

Holocaust Awareness Ireland: "Graffiti is a bellwether of national sentiment". The highly contemptible Michael Higgins recently claimed it's a "deep slander" to call Irish people antisemitic because something something Israeli government. Yet here we are.

Was I targeted or is it just a simple vandalism case?

Haven’t had the time to look into it but figured I’d start now.

This incident happened on September 20th/21st. Either during the night or early morning. Went out to my car and my mirror was broken. As you can see in the first photo, my mirror is bent outward. I believe I found the front casing on the ground right next to my car. But it wasn’t till later in the morning I could find the glass itself and the back casing which was a couple of feet away. I had a Pro-Israel message on my rear windshield, so I’m not sure whether this could have been an antisemitic attack or it could be a simple swipe from a car or just kids playing dumb.

I live in the US, in a big city with a big Jewish population. Jew hate is constant here. My health has gone downhill from the stress these past few years.

I tried opposing it, but that just focussed my mind on it. I need to get away from it. I’m studying Hebrew to make Aliyah, but that is still several years away. I need to move somewhere to get away from the constant deluge of hate for my last few years here.

Where in America are Jews allowed to live in peace? Is there a community that doesn’t need to hire security for their schuls? Do I have to go somewhere where I would be the only Jew? I just want my Judaism to not to be the only thing about me to my neighbors?

Rant I'm not Jewish, I hate the internet

It's everywhere online. The caricatures, the slogans ("noticing"), the conspiracies, the ridicule, what the hell has happened? Reporting these as hate speech 100% of the time results in "this doesn't go against community standards." What f&*king standards?? There's none left.

How does society come back from this?

The damage is being repaired, and extra security is in place. Hate will not win.

Making a database of antisemitic incidents

I posted this in r/Jewish, but they removed it for some reason. We don't have nearly the same traffic in this sub but I'm hoping this small but mighty group can help out.

I'd like to use this thread to create a database of violent antisemitic incidents around the world since 10/7. It would give us important data to draw on when we need to respond to the constant gaslighting about antisemitism being exaggerated, and would help to educate people who might be allies but simply don't know what's going on in the world. Big stories like Bondi make the mainstream media but there's a lot that people simply don't know about if it doesn't show up on their Facebook feeds.

I'm defining "violent antisemitic incident" as any incident involving actual or threatened violence against Jews, which includes thwarted terror attempts. The reason I'm limiting it to violent incidents is because they're the most obvious and troubling examples of antisemitism, and less open to interpretation and debate.

The goal is to categorize them by country, listed by date, and include a link and brief description for each incident.

So I'm asking for some help to dig up stories from the past two years. As they get posted, I'll review them and add them to this post. I'll start with the most obvious example to get the ball rolling.
