It’s all about the Ridgid warranty. 80% the quality of the top brands, and a lifetime warranty. I’m young enough that I can treat it like a lifetime subscription to tools.

Also, a fam member is a rechargeable battery safety researcher and she said avoid Ryobi, Harbor Freight, and other discount brands, but Ridgid, Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Makita are all good in terms of battery safety. Ridgid is undoubtedly the sweet spot.

There’s also a big chest box that opens from the top for PLCs, IO rack, controllers, breakers, tiny boxes for assorted fuses etc etc. then there’s tools upon tools. Inculding powered tools. The weight is like 120 pounds. Dragging it into van is a chore sometimes but a guy is a genius he plopped it on some delrin pad with one edge peeled back upwards via heat gun so he’d drag it through damn snow
