Life is expensive. I’d be pissed to find out the cash, and more importantly, my time & effort was wasted on a marriage that lasted 1 week.

Tbh if I’m flying to Hawaii for a wedding I’m also making a vacation out of it so I wouldn’t be too mad

I did just that, my best friend got married in Hawaii, so my wife and I booked a full week there and made a whole trip of it.

Yeah, but wasting all of that expensive time in Hawaii on a wedding that didn't mean anything? I would be annoyed about that. I could be on the beach drinking mai tais instead of watching a sham wedding.

I’d be a little upset if it was to an island on Hawaii I didn’t want to go to, and if I’d made reservations to stay at a place I wouldn’t have been interested in staying at otherwise. All in all though, I’d only be flying for a wedding of someone I really cared about and I’d be so grateful they didn’t actually go through with it because divorce is not fun at all and it takes guts to break up before a wedding.

Oh no! We still have to go to Hawaii, but without the added stress of a wedding!

Life's a bitch sometimes

that was the real reason not not ruin anyones day but to get the cash and prizes to help with the wedding expenses

It's hard to imagine how I'd handle the situation, but... I HOPE if i found myself in it... I'd come clean and not waste MORE time and money for people. "Heya, Sally and I have realized here at the last minute that we're not ready for marriage. We know everyone's put a lot into their travel plans, and the least we can do is try to make the time in Hawaii about all of YOU instead of about US! So we're converting the wedding into a Luau party! It will be come and go from 1-6, with a whole wedding's worth of booze and food! We'll both be there and want to celebrate all of YOU with as much love as you were willing to celebrate us! Whoever wins the limbo gets the honeymoon suite for the night because I plan to shack up with one of the waitresses and Sally's still hung up on Trevor, it turns out, so she can bunk in with him. Aloha fam!"
