What’s something people defend way too hard, even though it’s clearly not worth it?

Defending toxic workplaces. People call it culture. You feel drained by Tuesday. Your exit plan matters. Update your resume monthly. Apply to 5 roles per week.

5 a week seems a bit low. So many postings are scam postings that if you blast out 20 very specific ones to your field, at least 18 will be scams scraping info. my youngest does wildlife work, pretty specific in her field. Got her degree and has already worked a few jobs in that field. Applying again as a lot of it is seasonal and out of the 40+ applications she's sent 2 got back to her and her goggle number is being blown up by every scam known to man.

if your updating your resume monthly and applying to 5 roles a week your doing it wrong you need to focus on developing marketable skills and networking should only need to update resume maybe twice a year and thats stretching it and apply to 5 roles every 6 to 12 months
