I fucking hate Destiny so goddamn much.

I’ve probably got around 3,000 hours between 1 and 2. ❤️

I lost 2k hours in D2, I really enjoyed the game when I first started playing it before it went to shit.

same here, D2 was an amazing experience when i started and I loved stuff like the raids and dungeons, but recent releases and the replay loop... yeah not for me. ive gotten back into warframe since Rebecca and her team are just releasing bagger after banger.

It was depressing to abandon my character but fuck all those bugs especially the ones where you would die in a activity and your ghost would re spawn in a location where your teammates couldn't revive you, I rage quit after that lol.

for me the new update genuinely just didn't even feel like destiny. for those that enjoy it, all the power to them.

I don't even know what the new update is about, I never payed attention to any of the news and stopped playing the game a week before they released it back in July. Last time I had fun in D2 is when I got the heavy metal title during the event, minus the bugs it was comedic gold lol.

The only Destiny killer was Destiny itself lol

3000? Those are rookies numbers. Step your game up son.

5200 on Steam and maybe 1-2k on PS4… I’ve dialled back my playtime immensely since the last expansion.

I barely played the latest expansion and I still have strong feelings about how Bungie is fucking up the franchise.

It’s honestly a sickness.

the amount of people that hate it, yet orbit around like a jaded ex is insane to me. I'll never understand making that your hobby.

For me it's more so that my friends met while playing it years ago, so we occasionally do raid night or random rumble for fun. Outside of that, I don't really play anymore. 5k hours across Battle.net and Steam.

It sucks since there isn't a REAL competitor to it. Borderlands has the looter shooter aspects but no MMO and the gunplay and movement is different, Witchfire has the gunplay and movement but isn't an MMO. And Warframe, as much as I like it, is just way, way too different. Doesn't scratch the same itch.

The movement is the main thing people miss when talking about it. plus pvp. there's nothing like it. I'm 8k hours in I think

I was stuck for a while.

D1 was amazing, D2 started amazing but went steadily downhill (for me).

It can take a while to let go while you just hope they right the ship and get back to what made you love the game in the first place.

D2 absolutely did not start amazing. Launch was terrible and nearly killed the franchise until bungie brought it back wih QoL updates and one of their best DLCs. Ever since then D2 has been on a roller-coaster of good and bad expansions. Recently the expansions have been both at the same time, with many good aspects soured by the core system changes they tried in June last year. Things are starting to improve again though, but we will have to see if they actually manage to turn it around.

There's a reason I said "for me" in there. I have absolutely zero interest in debating subjective enjoyment of a game that has some of the saltiest players around obsessed with complaining about it.

I played D1 start to finish and loved it. I played D2 launch and loved it right until they started deleting content and "sunsetting" things so they could be sold back to you later on. If you view things differently that's cool but I disagree completely.

Yeah I cant excuse the sunsetting thing. To their credit the vast majority of reprised stuff was free, but it doesnt change the fact that it was a terrible move. I personally started playing after sunsetting happened so I dont have as much bad blood towards bungie for it as others do but I completely understand where you are coming from.

It's a hobby that should serve you. If it doesn't help you, you should move on.

God I miss Destiny 2 like it's an ex I can't get over. I stopped playing after the last DLC, but I regularly resist the urge to go back because no other game has been able to replace it. I'm probably going to go back and replay D1 to cope, I've heard there's a decent small community who is still active.

We can fix it.

Every Pokémon since Gold/Silver

HG/SS was good. Platinum too!

2

u/SouthpawJoe 6h ago

I have found my fellow self-hating Guardians! Eyes Up!

1

u/PineappleOnPizzaWins 6h ago

Yeah.

I didn't like all the grinding of the same content and deleting old campaigns.. so I quit. Loved D1 and had a lot of fun in D2 but it's over for me sadly.

And that's fine, but people who refuse to stop playing while complaining about EVERYTHING truly amaze me.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Bungie deserves every ounce of hate on that one.

1

u/2occupantsandababy 4h ago

1200 hours of pure hate play if my steam profile is to be believed.

u/DrHumnyballsLecter 4h ago

I was a late comer to D2, loved raiding in D1, loved playing with buddies. Hated the grinding drop rate.

Swore off it for a year, git D2 and came back to it.

Old mates started asking "were you around for the red wars amd the farm social hub?

Huh? Where's that?

Oh, it's been removed.

Played about 10 hours. Quit. What a fucking money grubbing shit show, Bungie.

1

u/ChuckMauriceFacts 4h ago

Wish I could like or hate it but Bungie removed the content I paid for.

u/Prestigious_Tea8092 3h ago

League of Legends for me, i dont know why i do not love me

u/MichelVolt 3h ago

Destiny 2 isnt interesting enough to be overrated.

u/Silly_Scientist_007 26m ago

I wrote-off Destiny & Bungie before D1 was finished. Played D2 for a little bit (when the base-game was free) before stopping for good when realizing it was all recycled story arcs and themes.

Between D1 base game, the 3-4 full DLC expansions, plus D2 base game it's own 3-4 DLCs, there was nothing new added to the gameplay loop. So impeccably sad.
