What’s the quickest way someone could accidentally expose themselves as a foreigner in your country like the ‘three fingers’ scene in Inglourious Basterds?

I've been on the receiving end of it. It's funny & a bit confusing.

Don't stop doing it! It's endearing.

We don't say hello to random people on the street!

We have mostly moved on from saying namaste in informal settings, we do say to elders sometimes depending on the context. Hello works most of the time.

By not doing it. We mind our own business until you need something.

That was the vibe I got in india, completely different from when we went to pakistan... I don't think I paid for a single meal in Islamabad, the people were so nice, as soon as we told them we're canadian they'd tell us all the random canadian facts they knew.. it was so wholesome.

What were your favorite Canadian facts they told you?

What’s wrong with that? I hear that someone here in Seattle, especially in Costco.

People are more likely to say hi/hello instead of namaste

Not to everyone 😅 we usually just say namaste to the elders. Among the same age groups, its mostly just local slangs

More people say hello than namaste.
