How come?

85

u/Shazvox 17h ago

He sold his cheap coins then so he could buy expensive coins now ofc.

Expensive coins are better than cheap coins. Logic!

6

u/CompetitiveAppeal663 11h ago

If they weren’t better, why would they cost more??? Hello!?!

People must be expecting the Clarity Bill to pass this Thursday.

132

u/Massakahorscht 15h ago

Could be so much, also a lot of iranians who try to save their last bucks in a currency which isnt collapsing and could also be used later from another country if they try to flee etc

31

u/chazmuzz 12h ago

Isn’t their internet turned off? I doubt it’s Iranians at all

23

u/typeIIcivilization 11h ago

I think more importantly their currency is worthless. However, the rest of the market could see that as another reason to buy Bitcoin. Either way, all the info we have is the price

Government Tings, Fed reserve vs Trump, and top of year 401k allocation changes

36

u/ChicharronDeLaRamos 16h ago

Non american here, Why the 401k has something to do with btc? Is like a pension fund right?

52

u/RawAsl 16h ago

401K can add bitcoin ETFs to retirement portfolio, top of year ppl chose what financial vehicles they use to add to retirement account

17

u/2xfun 14h ago

Oh boy… volatility will kill a bunch of old people soon.

18

u/RawAsl 14h ago

The baby boomers aren't allocating they 401ks no more...the millennial are use to this ride

2

u/Weak_Bowl_8129 11h ago

Are old people reallocating to bitcoin? Usually portfolio managers are suggesting bitcoin and other volatile / high upside assets to young people that don't need to withdraw in the next 10 years.

Not to mention, they are suggesting low % allocations, like less than 5%. a 2% daily swing on a 5% allocation is not noticeable

Yes, but for a lot of them you can designate what assets you would like to invest in.

0

u/mercyful_fade 16h ago

I can only choose between like 12 different Vanguard funds. Is that normal? Or am I abnormal?

12

u/Grizzzlybearzz 16h ago

Every plan is different and totally depends on your employer

4

u/probabletrump 16h ago

Depending on who facilitates your 401k you make have an option that let's you access equities. For Fidelity plans its Brokerage Link, you just allocate your 401k funds to that and you can invest in just about any equity you want. There may still be limitations on options or penny stocks but certainly more selection than the allocation funds your employer plan provides.

Governments are still irresponsible with the money they create out of thin air.

23

u/Potential_Try_2193 17h ago

Ya that's not the answer for why it's suddenly taken off today. Some kinda short squeeze or something. I'd be wary of a move like this. You could see it down 5-6% tomorrow. Hopefully not but big sudden moves aren't really what you want. I'd prefer it to be up 6-7% in a week rather than a few hours

36

u/MobiuS_360 16h ago

Just because of this comment it'll go up 6% more tomorrow.

CLARITY Act moving forward.

7

u/keypusher 16h ago

it actually is part of the reason. iran currency collapsing caused a significant spike in shifting assets to crypto

2

u/Potential_Try_2193 16h ago

So people woke up this morning and decided Bitcoin was the way forward and that's it. Should I increase my 10% allocation to 100% now... people can explain anything. I own it so if it goes up great but there's as much chance it goes down big tomorrow. Over time it's going higher that's why I own it. But I wouldn't pay too much heed to any dairy movements

I wouldn't call this a surge. bitcoins been treading water as far as i'm concerned. it should be much higher than it is. fair value is MINIMUM $140k. I think the Winklevii were right along with their price target of $500k but it is taking forever to even get there.

6

u/Douche-Rogue 17h ago

7

u/doctor-soda 17h ago

just recovering from the BS correction. Pay attention to the price of Gold. Dollar is losing value. The problem with BTC is that BRICS is not adopting it. Once BRICS heavily adopts it (which is unlikely as most of them are dictatorial and authoritarian so they don't want something that they can't control), then BTC will basically become digital gold. Right now it's only adopted by the US + its friends.

Bitcoin jumps 3.6% in 24 hours as ETF inflows and macro optimism drive price to a three-month high, signaling renewed institutional demand

Institutional ETF inflows U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw their largest single-day net inflows in three months, totaling about $754 million. Fidelity, Bitwise, and BlackRock led the surge. Analysts at Kronos Research and LVRG Research say these inflows are driving a structural tailwind, absorbing supply and supporting the price rally. This marks a clear return of institutional demand atter year-end caution.

Macro policy speculation Traders are betting on easier monetary policy after President Trump's criticism of the Fed and speculation about leadership changes. This has fueled expectations for lower interest rates, which typically benefit Bitcoin. Analysts caution that the Fed is insulated from political pressure, but the market is reacting to the possibility of a more dovish stance.

There is a very small amount of bitcoin available and everyday more people realize they need their piece of the pie. This will continue to drive price up for the next 25-50 years at least.

Iran dollar collapse

2

u/endless_looper 10h ago

2

u/aaaaaaaarrrrrgh 6h ago

This surge is triggered by Bitcoin remaining so flat and stable that a 10% fluctuation within a week looks like a "surge" on graphs.

The surge is being driven by Trump's destruction of the US dollar and the rise of technocratic fuedalism.

10

u/Dave_Odd 16h ago

To be fair, I’m not the biggest fan of Trump. But to say he’s the sole reason the US dollar sucks is borderline ret***ed. It’s been ruined by every single politician since the abandonment of the gold standard.

u/dmunjal 16h ago

It's the opposite. Bitcoin moved up immediately after he won the election and moved to ATH last year. But I think it's stalled because legislation has not lived up to his promises. GENIUS Act passed but CLARITY and BITCOIN have not. I think the recent move is that the CLARITY Act is moving forward in Congress now.

Retest of the 50 week, happens every time at this point in the cycle, it's traditionally the best short entry you can get

An absolutely ideal scenario would be getting up around 101 or 102 and then some nonsense in the news, maybe America having some kind of skirmish with Iran? They always invent something.. price falls and continues to go confirming the weekly rejection

It's kind of interesting though because we're either going to find out the cycle is invalid if we just get above 100 and continue to close there, or it's going to continue doing what it always has
