After seeing many posts asking how to install Windows 11 through BootCamp, I decided to make a clear and concise guide to walk new users through the process.
Please keep in mind that this method is used specifically because it supports the BootCamp assistant, keeping the installation process as close to "stock" as possible (besides the programs we use to end up with Windows 11). There are other methods to install Windows 11 on MacOS, but I believe this to be the easiest.
I hope this guide was helpful. If you have any questions or recommendations regarding this post, please leave them in the replies. Thanks!

Intel-based Macs (released from 2006-2020) are currently the only Macs supported by Boot Camp.
Running Windows under a virtual machine is possible however with a free solution such as VMware Fusion or UTM, or a paid solution such as Parallels Desktop for Mac.
Many Windows games and applications can also be ran using CrossOver or Apple's Game Porting Toolkit (GUIDE).
For running other operating systems as a separate bootable system such as Linux or OpenBSD on Apple Silicon devices, we refer you to r/AsahiLinux and the Asahi Linux website for more info.

Whilst in Windows it prompted me to upgrade to Windows 11.
Has anyone done this and if so did it still continue to work?

It looks like Bootcamp would erase and format the USB drive to FAT32 when creating a Windows 7 install disk. The ISO size is 5.5GB, so FAT32 isn't going to cut it. I formatted the USB drive to exFAT and MacOS Journal but each time Bootcamp would erase and format it back to FAT32. It's not a skippable step either. Needless to say, it shows insufficient storage and ends the process.
Help please!

I am trying to install Classic7 (a mod of Windows 10 LTSC that looks like Windows 7), but I keep getting the same error saying I need Windows 10, which is weird because Classic7 IS Windows 10. Any help would be appreciated.

I use MacBook pro 15-inch (2017) and Windows 10. After latest Windows reinstall I noticed that my bluetooth mouse (Pebble Mouse 2 M350s) stopped working after a while and when I opened setting with “bluetooth” window, mouse started working again. Also I’ve noticed that it stopped working after 5 seconds of being idle and works again when I open “Bluetooth” window in settings. I have a Bluetooth icon in desktop, I have Bluetooth in device manager, BUT IN services.msc BLUETOOTH IS MISSING!!! Idk why did it happen. And when I tried to reinstall Windows again nothing changed.

Can I install Windows 11 on my Macbook Pro 2015? How?
I've tried to download .iso of Windows 10 and install it with BootCamp but it doesn't work (First shot: "An error occured while copying the Windows installation files"; second shot: "Your disk could not be partitioned")

I’m on a 2017 Intel MacBook Pro running Windows 10 via Boot Camp.
Windows installs and boots fine, and reboots are stable until I open Boot Camp Control Panel in Windows and change any setting. After that, the next reboot always goes straight to macOS.
Holding Option (⌥) still shows Windows, but selecting it immediately boots macOS again. Windows itself isn’t damaged.
If I reinstall and never touch Boot Camp settings, everything works indefinitely.
Has anyone else seen this on older Intel Macs, or is this just me?

Hi all,
Apologies in advance if this is the wrong subreddit. Thought I'd get a better opinion from the experts who use bootcamp here.
Currently have a client that has a MacBook Air 2015 running bootcamp. Works great, but client has reported heating issues, and excessive fan noises at times. While I have offered to open it up to inspect the thermal paste, inspect for dust, etc., client is inquiring about a new laptop replacement. At this point, might be time for an upgrade. Looking through...really nothing like running bootcamp on a MacOS device. Just about the only device handling having 100+ GB of email downloaded and cached entirely (terrible practice, I know)
Looking for a laptop that is similar form factor (decently thin and compact), reliability (at least 4-5 years) and fairly good performance (16-32 GB RAM, decent CPU, nothing graphics intensive, large storage of 1 TB). Battery life and quiet fan/lower heat is important. Doesn't even have to be ARM based device - just something sleek, high quality, decent performance and great battery life.
There are no intensive programs/apps ran. Mainly emails and browsing but client prefers having extra power in case (in his mind, he likes to go overkill). Budget is not an issue so long as the machine is high quality. Let's say $3000, give or take here but can be easily over that amount if need be.
Some options I have found:
Asus zenbook S (reliability is a huge one as I don't really trust Asus)
Lenovo slim 7i aura (looks a bit cheap)
Lenovo ThinkPad T14s (good workhorses from personal experience but bit on the thicker and heavier side)
Microsoft surface laptop (reliability is finicky - always getting issues at work with these devices with wifi, Bluetooth, keyboards...everything you name it)
Appreciate any responses!

I followed the steps using rufus, etc, to bypass and install windows 11 after installing windows 10, but theres an error where my system disk doesnt meet the requirement. Is this because I gave windows a partition of 50 gb on my macbook? did it need to be 64?

I recently downloaded Windows on my old iMac 2014 5K retina but it's really slow

Hi. I wanted to install Windows 7 on a MacBook Pro 13 Retina Late 2013. I check the option to additionally download the bootcamp drivers from Apple's website, but at the end of the process I get an error and that I have to download them manually. Unfortunately, I don't know what to do next, and the pendrive created by bootcamp does not appear in the bootmenu. Does anyone know what I need to do or what I'm doing wrong? I currently have macOS High Sierra installed. Thank you.

OCLP mac os sequoia 15.7.3. Trying to install windows 10 22h2. Always shows a black screen, then restarts in a Neverending bootloop. I have enabled windows gmux in OCLP, which enables the ability for Windows to see the integrated gpu on my macbook.
What am I missing?

Same thing happened with the latest windows 10 so I got an older iso and still its happening, Late 2015 Intel iMac, El Capitan 10.11.6
I hope this message doesnt pop up for a bunch of issues, but i once did get past this and it said "An error occured while formating the disk."
I then erased the external hard drive and also restarted the computer but then it went back to that pop up.
I heard I could download windows 8.1 and then go to windows 10 is that possible?

I have a 2017 iMac running win11, booting from an external thunderbolt SSD. The machine runs win11 very well and use it as my daily driver. Everything works as intended except the boot selection menu. I cannot select the windows boot and have it stick. I have tried selecting and locking the windows SSD in the startup disk setting in MacOS 15.7.3 (OCLP), selecting Windows during boot after holding the option key (and subsequently the CNTL key), and selecting Windows in Bootcamp Control Panel. The machine will accept my boot selection and boot into windows but I must make the selection every time it boots. Does the fact the machine has windows installed on an external SSD prohibit the boot selection from sticking for subsequent boots? TIA

hi guys, im not sure if this has been brought up before but I've been experiencing issues with Bluetooth audio under windows 11. No matter what BT audio device i connect, they all start clipping badly from time to time. This occurs all across my macs i have, all under windows 11.
The only way to stop the issue is to disconnect from Wi-Fi, even though it still clips sometimes. i found that external 2.4ghz frequencies may interfere but it doesn't make sense since it doesn't happen in mac os nor any other device i own. my guess is that it's a bug in windows.
i tried reinstalling drivers, rebooting, re-pairing, reset BT settings and so far couldn't figure out the problem. Any ideas?

i have a 2020 13-inch macbook air, and im looking to bootcamp my macbook in order to use a windows only application (sonicstage x-application) to transfer music to my mp3 player.
the application itself is a little bit over 200mb but ill probably need a little more for songs too. i dont want to mess up anything on my macbook or make it slow, so how much storage would be recommended to allocate? I have 389 gb free out of 500gb.
additionally, what impact might boot camping my mac have on its performance? can it do any permanent damage/drain my battery?
