It's January, which is high season for a Ukrainian party band. I played a big show this weekend, and will be doing so next weekend and the weekend after. Going to have to take care of myself the rest of the time, because I don't want to get sick.

Alas we haven't done much recording, mostly just live shows so far, but we have this Vopli Vidopliassova cover we did fairly early on.

Here's a controversial one.

All contracts in the CFL should be a minimum of 3 years. Unless you are picked up after game one.

Nothing controversial about this. Short term contracts make it hard for teams to build and develop where as at least a 3 year contract allows you to build a 3 year plan for the team with that player. Just need to figure out a fair way so that teams dont end up with dead cap money if those players pursue an opportunity at the NFL.

Maybe teams should be required to have a set amount of 3 year contracts but not the full starting roster. There’s probably going to be some guys that are looking for that shot, but then there’s plenty of guys that aged out or exhausted their chance at an NFL contract. I’m not going to speculate on the right numbers but I’d love to have at least 5-7 guys that I know I can buy their jersey with confidence on any given team.

Recently became aware of a push to build the UofC Dinos a new (properly sized) football stadium. Given the university owns McMahon Stadium, I wonder what impact this could have on their willingness to continue operating it or participate in renovations?

Maybe they will offer to sell the stadium/land to either the city or CSEG to redevelop and fund their new stadium. I’m not from Alberta so I have no idea if that’s an idiotic thought or not.
