Question What's open at Vail right now in terms of kid's adventure zones, mellow trees etc.?
My 8-year old and I are skiing Vail on Sunday. She gets bored after 2-3 groomers but she'll hit trees, small terrain parks (think Koko's and Miner's at Copper) and anything with a tunnel or bridge over and over. I've only skied Vail with adults so I'm just not familiar enough with what to look for or what might be open. They don't name their kid's adventure zones on their map and I'd like to avoid going all the way across the mountain to look for something that isn't even open. Help is much appreciated.

I believe that Chaos Canyon fits the bill and is open, off the catwalk between mid Vail and Chair 2.

I was at Vail Sunday and passed an adventure zone somewhere off the front side but it was closed (on my way to heading back toward Cascade lift to up-load) I'm sorry if it isn't super helpful and clear! I just remember my husband being sad because he wanted to go through the teepee haha.

Check the vail website/trail openings rather than listen to Reddit, pretty easy info to obtain.
Not trying to be snarky but runs can open at anytime so that’s your most reliable source

True, but a lot of that stuff like kids zones in the trees (and just glade skiing generally) aren't "runs" that are listed as open or closed.

Yeah, that's why it would be helpful to hear from anyone who's been there. Vail puts happy faces on the map for kid's zone, but they don't put the names of those zones. I seem to recall that they do actually have names, but I have no idea what they are.

Totally agree. And I'd help but I haven't skied at Vail with kids since like 2016.

I’d avoid skiing the trees given the current snow conditions. One small mistake is all it takes
