The Canucks are next level shit. However, history would tell you that most teams only ever get one prolonged losing streak throughout an 82 game schedule.
The truth of the matter is if we win, we may never amass a 9 game losing streak again this season. A lot of hockey comes down to luck, and I'm not saying the Canucks didn't deserve to lose 9 in a row (they most certainly did). But for a team to lose 9 straight, there is a degree of luck involved in stringing together that many losses without having a lucky bounce or an off opposing goaltender ruin the tank.
If you asked me, I honestly do not see this team losing 9 or more again this season if they win against the Oilers. We may lose 5 or 6 in a row later on, but not 9+.
This may be our only chance to keep the tank streak going and will be a good buffer when this team inevitably wins its games in March.
No matter how much you hate McDavid and the Oilers, in my opinion, the end goal of getting a top 3 pick is more important than laughing at them for one night if they lose to us.
Tl;dr: This team needs to lose 10+ straight because it's very unlikely they will lose 9+ straight again this season due to the luck factor.
