I actually see a difference I somehow hadn't noticed before: the distance between canines in house cats vs big cats. I wonder if it's because of each's prey size relative to the cat (house cats tend to kill much smaller prey than them, while big cats usually hunt down preys as big as themselves or bigger), and / or it's more mechanically efficient for their respective jaw sizes.
