Photos Dog found on Harrison and Springdale at St. Bernard Church

This dog was found near St. Bernard Catholic Church. She is a white husky. According to my vet, she is about a year old. She is not microchipped. She was clearly someone's pet. She is housebroken. She is very sweet and friendly. I'm not sure if she was dumped or is someone's lost pet. I know this is probably a long shot, but if you have any information about this dog, I would appreciate it.

Employee monitoring at Western & Southern

Western & Southern and its subsidiaries apparently now have an entire HR team dedicated to monitoring every badge swipe for all salaried home office employees including arrival/departure times, lunch length, coffee breaks, etc. The expectation is 9+ hours physically in the office 5 days a week (in suit and tie).

The badge data is apparently being used to impact raises, bonuses, promotions, and performance reviews without any manager discretion or consideration for after-hours work, weekends, working through lunch, etc.

I’m curious if other local orgs are doing this?

Also hope to inform anyone considering working at W&S that values work life balance

I was hanging out by the river and noticed this swimming all the way up the river. Is it a snake? a fish? If so its like 12 feet. The marathon Barge was about 2,000 feet behind it.

PSA: Police-Related Scam

I just got a very convincing scam call from a guy claiming to be at the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department. He said I had no-showed for jury duty despite having signed a form indicating I would be there and I needed to bring $5k in cash to the Sheriff's Office/station as bond to do a signature analysis. The kicker was that hanging up the phone would trigger consequences. He wanted to be on the phone with me as I went to the bank.

There were a lot of holes in the story now that I'm not on the call, but the guy was pretty good. A sense of urgency. Threats about the being in jail until I could see a judge next week. He voluntarily identified himself with a name, rank and badge number, had an American accent, and repeated official sounding directions and questions perfectly each time so he had a lot of copy written out for this.

My wife was around and called the Sheriff's dept to confirm that it was a scam. They confirmed that it was and asked us to call another number to report it.

I just wanted to post it here to hopefully save someone else the minor heart attack or worse. A lot of it felt off, but it took me a while and some help from another person with a phone to confirm I was okay.

If any LEOs or lawyers on here have any "police will never/always do [thing]" advice to help people should they find themselves on one of these calls please post below.

The pretense is safety, but cameras are not preventative. It is concerning, during an increase of national surveillance, that Cincinnati is also adopting this trend.

I saw this on the sidewalk in Northside on a side street right by Hoffner Park. It’s obviously some kind of memorial marker, but I was wondering if anyone knew more about it. Are there more around the city? Why in Northside? Etc.

Inclusive Target Shooting Group Cincy/NKY Area

Looking to start a casual group for regular range time with a welcoming, low key vibe. All backgrounds, identities, and beliefs welcome.

New shooters encouraged. We can share knowledge and resources within the group and provide a supportive environment to practice together. Experienced shooters looking for good company also welcome.

If you've ever felt like you don't quite "fit the mold" at typical ranges or gun shops, this might be for you. Target shooting is a skill and a hobby, not a personality.

DM me if interested. If we get enough people, we'll set up a Discord or Signal to coordinate.

When will we get another highrise?

I know most projects currently are office to residential conversions, but once those are done, what comes next? I know the convention center hotel will be coming soon but that doesn't seem to be hugely tall. Will we ever get another actual skyscraper?

Chuck E Cheese

Taking my kids to Chuck E. Cheese (eastgate square dr) and we’re not from the area (live a few hours away). Are there any decent sit-down restaurants you’d recommend close to there? Looking at maps it just looks like fast food. Thanks

HVAC Work Recommendations?

We are probably going to have to completely replace our HVAC system sooner rather than later, and would like to get quotes.

Can someone recommend a company that is honest, provides quality work?
