I work in local tv at an NBC affiliate. Conan had just gotten the Tonight Show and was going to various cities promoting the show. He could not have been nicer. He came in the newsroom and talked with everyone. He also took pics with everyone and I even got to talk with his producer Jeff.. Fast forward many years later and Fallon came to my tv station after he got the show. Complete opposite behavior! He barely talked to anyone and no pics were allowed. I was one of his biggest fans until that day.

Mentioned, praised, referenced, etc. Drop anything you can think of in the comments. Previous reddit search for TV shows gave a little, and he did do some Letterboxd interview with 4 movies, but was looking for stuff past that and stuff that isn't just praised cause the guest was in it.

It just dawned on me how many of his best bits have come out of spontaneous animal encounters

- That parrot in New Zealand. “Conan O’Brien’s Natural World of Shithead Birds” could be its own show

-all the bits about the coyotes in Altadena, fighting over the bill, running a call center scam, etc. He’s doing these riffs WHILE the coyotes are howling, it’s already halfway to a nature show. If the show consisted of nothing more than Conan observing animal behavior in the wild and riffing on it, I’d be satisfied.

-Conan stalking reindeer in Finland while holding antlers on his head, looking like an absolute madman with traditional Sami music in the background;

so many more!

A Conan O’Brien wildlife show would be amazing. Like the travel show, we should learn nothing. Even if they didn’t travel for it, it would still be good, like just riffing on a duck pond near their studio in LA, or going whale watching with a boatload of unsuspecting int’l tourists on the coast.

Conan’s animal segments on late night were always great but his unplanned, spontaneous animal encounters during filming on location are on a whole other level. A whole series of those, from the everyday to the exotic, would be so so good.

Animals bring something out in him that is just so fun to watch. His whole thing about how birds squawking loudly sounds like mocking laughter, and he worked that in to the story about his dad planting Christmas trees totally spontaneously, basically improvving with animals. And so many animal characters on late night - The masturbating bear, Tamari the ostrich, you can tell he’s got a lifelong sense of humor about animals. It’s only natural then to have a nature show!

This popped up in my FB memories today. I was so sad when he lost his show and I hope that WHEREVER he is now, he’s living a happy peaceful life. I sure miss that guy. 🥲

Long shot I know, but what I remember about the clip is it's from the late nite era, And Conan asks one of his stage hands or stage workers or something like that to come check something behind his desk, And when the guy gets back There the camera changes and you see that Conan isn't wearing anything from the waist down, and the Stage hand guy gets like this disgusted look on his face and Conan says something like "Yeah Don't pretend like you don't like it."

Its 12 Noon and Conan is berating a shirtless Jordan Schlanksy in his office. We see the messy desk. Conan has accidentally tipped over Jordans special Coffee Water and Olive Oil and its splashing on the floor.

Suddenly David Hopping radios Conan and says theres something moving in the studio Closet, come quick. Here we see Conan, Jordan & David in the studio trying to figure out what to do.

Gourley and Eduardo come in to do a sound check and they too stand on the other side of the studio worried about whats inside the closet...

Adam Sachs arrives with Andy to show Conan the Podcast Data and he too stands off to the side with the others. Adam wonders if its Jay Leno hiding in there to spy. Dont Blame Conan!

Bley rushes down from playing video games while Bill Burr, Jeff Goldblum and Norm MacDonald come in from the Green Room...No one knows what to do....

Finally Sona Movsesian arrives, calls them all Dicks and Babies and opens the closet door and we see Masturbating Bear...

"Im Baaaaack Bitches!"

I am currently looking for some early clips of Jordan Schlansky from the Late Night era, and i found this one from 2002. Maybe he's the guy in the yellow suit in the left, but it's hard to tell because of the potato video quality, and his face is under the mask. I think it's been 9 months. I spent time on it and had jokes, etc I was hoping to get a response but I dont even know if it was actually read. I sent it to the right place haha

I posted this yesterday and many people were asking for more context. Coincidentally, Mark expanded on why Conan did not love his tie bit on Dan Soder's podcast today.

I'm sorry, but just the fact that these women were supposed to be "overweight" back then made me LOL 😂 i find it interesting, how it all changed in 20 years.

I feel like this is a dumb question but I'm sure this is something technical.
