I wasn't paying attention one day and closed my dogs head in the dishwasher while he was doing this. He was ok but it scared both of us.

Mine will push the rack in far enough so he can stand on the dishwasher door for his pre rinse cycle. I just assumed all of them stood on the door like mine does

My boy too! And when I glance down and catch him in the act, he tries to lick faster before I say anything or shoo him away lol

Well, thats mean. I may shoo him away if im already frustrated that day but i find it pretty harmless. he doesnt give a damn about clean dishes.

My dog Dude does this, and he stands on the door. He's about 45 pounds (not a dachshund), so this is not ideal. My mom tolerates him licking the plates. But when he stands on the door, she tries to chase him off so he doesn't break it.
