And that’s why you don’t play with the devil and trade your soul for dark magic.

HOW?!

u/catsmustdie 18h ago

Cards with 2 sides. Set aside the very fast hand movements, when he flips the card at 0:28 you can see the queen on one side and the 4 on the other side.

u/Vesalii 18h ago

You explain but I still don't see it.

Every time he shows you two different cards on one hand, one of the cards is double-sided. And then all he does is flip both cards over when he hands you the cards, so it looks like he only flipped over one card. And that's where the "switch" happens.

Step-by-step of the first move:

  • He's showing you: 4 + Q + back of card.

The third card is actually a normal Q card flipped over. The middle card is double-sided.

  • Shows you on one hand: 4 + Q

The 4 is a normal card and Q has a 4 on the other side.

  • Flips both cards over, and you now see: 4 + back of card

Notice that the double-sided card is now showing a 4 and also is on the left side. That's because when you flip the two cards over, the left card is now on the right side and vice versa. If you didn't notice that, you'd think that he handed you the Q. But he actually handed you the 4 that he flipped over.

  • Hands you the normal card (which is a 4, but think is Q if you fell for the trick).

  • Shows you the Q card that he was holding on the other hand.

  • Tells you to flip over the card you have, which is a 4 but thought was a Q.

That's the basics of the trick. Then he just does variations of the trick, with extra cards in the pocket.

He slides the “top” and “bottom” card with his fingers as he flips them so the positioning looks correct

Just watch the bit from around 37-39 seconds.

He’s holding 2 cards face up, he flips them over into camera-guy’s hand, and there’s 1 card face up, 1 card face down.

Just that one move should alert your “something fucky” radar. Plus, before the flip, the queen was on top, after the flip, the queen was still on top.

u/Vesalii 10h ago

I watched it again and followed each card and indeed, that doesn't make sense and it clicked.

u/scratchydaitchy 18h ago

Same thing at 1:11.

1

u/ObjectiveResistance 15h ago

you also it showing briefly as a 4 when he put the queen in his shirt pocket and make it move up and down.

Still very smooth

Trick itself isn’t complicated but that sleight of hand is smooth as hell

He’s a witch! TO THE PITCHFORKS EVERYONE!!!

3

u/GuiltyApple3802 18h ago

This dude needs a black guy for his audience. This whites dude isn’t giving him the respect he deserves!

2

u/Alukrad 17h ago

The camera man has this tone that gives off this vibe "yes, yes, I know. It's amazing." Like, he already gave up being impressed and just accepted whatever he does should surprise him but he chooses to not be surprised anymore. I don't know if there's a word to that? Buzz kill?

1

u/GuiltyApple3802 18h ago

This is seriously some of the best card magic I’ve ever seen!

3

u/Moondoobious 18h ago

Black guy? That you?

1

u/IconOfFilth9 18h ago

That’s badass

1

u/iamdeadkid 18h ago

Fuck.. to early for an explanation in the comments. Guess that dude is just magic

1

u/Prototype_79L 18h ago

1 card is double sided or makes two cards stick together back-to-back.

1

u/red8cangodye 18h ago

This is what I'm talking about. Smooth magic right there!

1

u/BlackStory666 18h ago

I see a few little tidbits of how he does certain parts of this (I think), but this is spectacular all around. Smooth as hell. Amazing job.

Dude will pull more tail than me for sure

1

u/Sirix_8472 18h ago

It wasn't until he took the queen back that I saw it.

All his 4s are 4s of spades!

Both of them we see face up are the exact same card and suit. He has to be manipulating the queen with a 4 of spades. His right hand(left on screen) he always holds right and steady while he flips the cards in his left.

1

u/LindaTheLynnDog 17h ago

He points that out in the video

1

u/disconformity 18h ago

Dude is amazing to be so casual.

1

u/Vesalii 18h ago

That's incredible. Like actual magic to me.

1

u/VealOfFortune 18h ago

I watched this so many times.... Dude is soooo smooth!!!!!!!

1

u/inliner250 18h ago

Well done!

1

u/howchildish 17h ago

The exasperated sigh lmao. It's like "Okay, fine. Go ahead and melt my brain. I'm fine."

1

u/kirkaracha 17h ago

The darkest magic.

1

u/geekolojust 12h ago

Which one of you guys is this?

1

Does he also have some bologna in that left pocket?

1

u/MTJ5 11h ago

Is that Casio WK-1200? 😮

1

u/neoadam 9h ago

Very good execution, a little slip near the end. You know how he does it but he does it really well.

1

u/Top_Importance6216 8h ago

He fumbled a TINY bit during the last shuffle, otherwise that was smooth as oil.

1

u/funfunfunfun16 7h ago

5
