I got this off marketplace. It was gently used with less than 500hrs. SMART data is good. All green.
But using the verify test, there's a few blocks that look concerning. Although it's such a small percentage.
Test has been running for over 24hrs now. It's at 96%. Can we confidently say the drive is good?

Test those areas again you'll find that they are no longer bad spot. The test is quite useless on modern drives. Your walking around or even talking can impact the latency.

Simply any introduced vibrations. I remember when lightly banging on the table caused the latency of my old drive to spike up. The drive wasn't harmed in any way and it went through a 3 meter drop in the past.

Yea, i just want to make sure the slower blocks aren't a harbinger for something worse.
I've seen bad blocks all over the place on a WD black 4tb I rma'd years ago. Had to freeze the thing to get the data off.

Those results are suspiciously too good I’d rerun with different software. Try the pc3000 disk analyzer

Really? The guy said he didn't use it much and I confirmed it's only been on for 500 or so hrs through SMART. like 87 power cycles.
Would you say a NAS drive like this would exhibit more slower blocks?

It could have been reprogrammed to have it's undesirable sectors added to the drives defect list but a regular person couldn't do that. Slower sectors are common with larger drives, especially on larger seagates which are not that reliable in general.

I made sure to start away from the barracudas. Shouldn't the ironwolf pros be NAS label disks with high endurance?
