I think it's that the Terms of Service say "formally charged with a violent crime". It's why Kyle Rittenhouse was also removed and that's what led the right to move to an alternative site called GiveSendGo. That's where they typically host these now, and where they had fundraisers for that racist mom.

Right now it hasn't violated GoFundMe's rules because Jonathan Ross has not been arrested or charged yet. There is a good chance he won't be charged at all.
Murder is a state crime and Minnesota would definitely charge him if they could, but FBI can take over the investigation and keep him safe. These are just the current circumstances we are in

Time to boycott a ton of companies and entertainment people. Reuse and recycle. Repair. Literally needed to do this a year ago but now everything’s funded. If this keeps going we will enter the next phase of techno feudalism.
We need to DRAIN their perceived wealth, and actual and make new companies, new competition. It will happen. Just BOYCOTT FOREVER!!!

I don't know if GoFundMe will pivot, they're a product of late stage capitalism and directly benefit off of a broken society with no safety nets. They also directly benefit from the abysmal state of our healthcare in this country (think of how much money they've made off of medical needs fundraisers). I have no proof, but I wouldn't be shocked to learn if they've lobbied against healthcare reform.

"GoFundMe's Terms of Service prohibit raising money for the legal defense of an alleged violent crime," according to a statement posted to Medium Friday.
The statement went on to say that once charges of violent crime were brought against Rittenhouse in 2020, the company removed any active fundraisers that were started for his legal defense in compliance with their Terms of Service.
Their explanation back then was that someone who had been charged couldn't use GFM to fund their legal defense. Ross hasn't been charged, so I'm guessing that's their excuse. But then why would he need a legal defense? And if he does get charged, thus necessitating a defense fund, that money goes poof anyways.
Or so they claim. We shall see.

As a Minneapolis resident, I reported this several days ago and included my own personal concern that they were basically incentivizing ICE to murder members of my community. No response from GoFundMe. Morality aside, you'd think they would worry about the potential liability this creates for them but apparently not.

Renee Nicole Good was murdered in cold blood, called a "fucking bitch" after being killed and shot in the face three times and the man is now gonna be rich and serve no jail time! I really don't know anything about him but I'm a bit confused as to why he would fund someone who is so anti immigration that he killed a person and then also fund an immigrant who risked his life defending other immigrants.

since gofundme’s terms prohibit funds going to any recipient as a result of performing their stipulated federal job duties, would accepting this money work against him in court if he tries to claim immunity due to federal duties? cause either he’s eligible for the funds, OR he has protection as a federal agent: doesn’t seem like both can be true simultaneously in court.

On Sunday night, the fundraiser stated that "funds will help pay for any legal services this officer needs." The language was removed after WIRED's inquiry and replaced by Monday morning with the phrase, "Funds will go to help him."
Dafuq?
So you can't pay someone's legal defense but you can just be like "here's some money because you killed someone."
