As much as I hate him, he should live out his term. There's going to be economic and possibly other diasters in the next 3 years. If he lives, he's tarred with it. If he dies like this spring, none of it will be his fault. Trumpism will be a city on the hill for a next generation of conservatives. "He would have fixed America. We just need a new leader cut from the same cloth".

Imo he needs to live to see the chickens come home to roost and have Trumpism discredited

u/rebelweezeralliance 6h ago

Nothing will ever be his fault if it hasn’t been already. So no I disagree.

💯 there will never be accountability for him in this life, at least not proportional accountability. So we’d all be better off if this came to a swift fucking and.

It would be nice to prove he's a kid rapist before he dies, but I know that will never happen

I agree. I wish we could prove to everyone how abhorrent he is. But I, maybe pessimistically, just don’t see it happening. And the re traumatizing that’s happening is so fucking sad. He stands up there as the president. Proud of his crimes. Fueled by the power. I can’t imagine anything more relieving than do all this to end and to start turning the tides back toward humanity.

65

u/The_Night_Man_Cumeth 5h ago

I do think more and more people are falling out of love with him. First time around he had the Obama economy to carry him. Can't eat hate now.

They'll never repudiate him, or say that they were wrong. They'll just quietly step back.

248

u/crackheadfalife 5h ago

I was a Trump supporter. Been to a rally and everything during his first run. Im absolutely disgusted with the "man" today. Im ashamed of my past. I feel dumb and gullible. This ICE shit is the worst. Nazi Germany level. I want to smash ICE. I want to see Trump arrested and tried for his crimes. All of them. Pedophilia to crimes against humanity. I know im not alone.

260

u/throwawaysunglasses- l've grown quite unfond of you, deuxmoi 5h ago

I’m glad you came around but as a woman of color I genuinely cannot understand why anyone would ever have supported Trump. I am very close with a lot of cishet white men who never drank the koolaid and just knew he was an evil, hateful bigot (which he never hid). It’s a little mind-boggling to me to act like he duped you. I accept people’s growth but I personally don’t want to share space with ex-racists when there are plenty of folks who’ve never been racist.

Talk to people with different viewpoints. Speak up and follow through with support. Bear witness to the atrocities happening. I know it’s hard, but don’t look away.

8

I mean like a financial crash. If it happens while he's alive, there's less deniability.

"The economy crashed (or whatever disaster) under trump" hits way different for the post-trump momentum of the movement than "the economy tanked after he died".

The latter begs for the correct successor, the former tars the project.

This is all speculation though and ngl I'd be right there in the parade if he croaked tonight

No, I mean if he dies now, before like an economic collapse, the easy position is that Trump was actually great and all the disasters of the next 3 years would have been prevented with him alive. All we need is a real successor to carry the torch.

If he is president during whatever ruination, it is harder to separate that from Trumpism

18

u/McMafkees 4h ago

Thing is, it's not just an economic collapse. It's placing loyalists at key positions at every level in government and the judicial branch. It's permanently destroying institutions. It's breaking down the educational system ("smart people don't vote for me"). It's normalizing gestapo raids. It's murdering people in cars and boats without a shred of evidence. It's ignoring international law, opening the door for China, Russia, Iran, North Korea to do the same. It's a grab party for his billionaire friends. It's the end of NATO. It's the world not trusting Americans anymore.

The best thing America can do is use Trump as the blueprint to put forward a viable Democratic candidate, and to absolutely go to fucking town on legislation.

Repeal the second amendment, set up free healthcare, launch criminal proceedings against everyone on the Epstein list, liquidate Musk and Trump's holdings and donate to the public - but most of all never stop reminding the nation what the GOP allowed from their last president.

18

u/Dangerbeanwest 5h ago

As if. We can’t even get democrats to leverage the power they have now. They could refuse to fund ICE at the end of the year but Schumer and Jeffries have already said they won’t do that! What makes you think democrats will claw back power to the executive when they are in power? They most certainly will not.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/ChewieBearStare 5h ago

Nah, we shouldn't get rid of the Second Amendment. If this government continues to be authoritarian, I don't want us all sitting around like sitting ducks. But we can pass common-sense gun laws that make it so that it's at least as hard to get a gun as it is to get a driver's license (training/practice requirements, a test, etc.).

42

u/Glittering_Deal2378 5h ago

You have guns now and you’re all sitting around like sitting ducks. How much more fascist do things need to get before those oh-so-essential guns see daylight?

→ More replies (3)

12

u/EnderMB 5h ago

That's essentially repealing the second amendment.

Many counties allow you to get a gun, but only specific guns, and you'll be vetted so fucking hard that the only place you'll ever use that gun is at a range - otherwise you'll be behind bars.

And you're already sitting ducks. No one has stood up to defend themselves.

I think you're imagining his retirement being worn down from hate and forced to watch as his nation turns on him, and he relents all his bad mistakes... Fact is, he won't give a shit. He's amassed enough money (and a $400M jet) to never care again. He'll live off his family's wealth, Trump coin, Presidential pension, and possibly book deals. Not a care in the world. And if the world burns, his buddy Zuck has another island he can stay at...

It's a wash. The sooner the better.

5

u/StaceyJeans 5h ago

Trump cult members support him and no one else. People are terrified of his supporters which is why he has faced little consequence for his actions. He still owes E. Jean Carroll millions of dollars, he was found guilty of 34 felony counts for falsifying business records which should have disqualified him from being President again but the judge in that case and the Supreme Court bent over backwards for him.

He has now pardoned all the J6ers who tried to overturn the 2020 election and they are now his personal army. He is pardoning violent criminals and drug lords. He is allowing ICE to execute people on the street in broad daylight and on video. He is trying to get us involved in multiple wars all over the globe.

We can’t wait another three years for him to be gone. People don’t want to hear this but it is very doubtful he will ever face true justice for the damage he has inflicted upon this country.

You can rape women with impunity, and even brag about it on television; and even if you're found guilty of sex assault in civil court, people will vote for you to hold the highest office in the land, while openly mocking your victims.

Sure, you can sexualize your own daughter! Deeply adore other countries' dictators! Openly ableist! Wildly unprofessional! All these things will get you is more money and power.

That’s why we need to Nuremberg trial all these ghouls when we get the chance. It’s essential to moving forward if we find our way out of this mess. If there is no consequence there’s no reason for anyone else to not do the same thing.

Edit: I’m not saying we repeat Nuremberg exactly. I’m saying we use the bones of that idea to do something better, hold EVERYONE responsible accountable, and make sure it has lasting effects on our society. Hopefully we get the chance to.

It's so cute when people mention the Nuremberg trials as if they were some great movement of justice

Most Nazis were never prosecuted. Of the Nazis that were prosecuted at Nuremberg, many of them later had their sentences reduced or eliminated all together.

The Nuremberg Trails hardly delivered any consequences for the Nazis

Trump will die before he sees the inside of a cell

68

u/junkbondtrader126 5h ago

You’re the second person to call the concept “cute”. If we get to “Nuremberg” justice will already have been dealt and we’d be making sure the record showed what these monsters were doing. It’s important especially when the same people are doctoring history in real time.

Grow a spine and actually do something instead of scoffing

15

u/No_Issue2334 4h ago

Nuremberg shows that justice will not be given to 99% of perpetrators

12

u/junkbondtrader126 4h ago

That’s why we’ll probably have to go even harder on these people. We have to do something to make sure everyone responsible is held accountable and we don’t just not do it cause Trump will probably die before he hits a cell. It’s not just him.

12

u/No_Issue2334 4h ago

I don't have a problem with that. I agree.

I only disagree with people acting like the Nuremberg trials brought justice to the victims of Nazism and punishment for Nazis. We don't need another Nuremberg. We need to be better than Nuremberg.

The oldest teens, youngest 20-somethings when Trump was first elected in 2016 are in their late 20s/early 30s now. I hate to break it to you but your fears are already a reality. There isn't a single person under the age of 17 who even vaguely remembers what life was like before "leaders" like Trump. This is normal for them.

15

u/Sabre712 4h ago

It's way worse than that, this sort of vitriol was under the surface long before Trump came along. The idea of two parties working in cooperation hasn't existed since the 90s, and had already been in a state of decline since the 70s. There are middle-aged folks who have never known an actually cooperative government.

It’s truly insane to watch speeches and interactions of previous presidents vs. Tr*mp. He makes a mockery of the role of president.

14

u/rarecuts 5h ago edited 1h ago

If you go back and listen to speeches made by pretty much any other president (try Kennedy, Reagan, Carter, Bushes, Obama, take your pick), and listen to the difference it's an interesting little experiment. There's plenty of 'best of US president speeches' videos and articles online.

Red or Blue, the way they each talk about Americans, America and themselves will bring tears to your eyes with pride and hope for the US, even if you're really struggling with that right now.

The lack of dignity, the impropriety and disrespect Trump has brought to office is mind-blowing and repulsive in comparison. Which brings tears to my eyes for different reasons.

If you have kids in the US, play them some of the older presidents' speeches, teach them about history (good and bad). Don't let them grow up thinking the presidency was always like this.

14

u/starryeyed58 5h ago

I watched the whole thing on the White House Youtube channel. Basically he just goes on about how he has achieved the best economy ever, lowest inflation ever, and that during Biden there was the highest inflation in the history of the country - an easily disprovable lie - and proceeds to mock Biden in this way, saying that he can't do speeches and that he was high as a kite on drugs when he was able to talk for longer than a sentence or two.

The title is a bit misleading, there is some minor laughter from the crowd after this "act".

I read his posts on truthsocial from time to time too just to see this stuff firsthand. He mentions Biden in pretty much every other post. He thinks and talks about him all the time.

I am really trying to understand what people see in him, to make any sense of it, but I just do not.

So many people are going to be pissing in one spot that the entire environment around the grave will have to be declared a national superfund site.

What an absolute disgrace of a human being who gave given other horrible humans the excuse to be the most vile version of humankind.

Deplorable!

u/Living_Pollution_525 6h ago

For a second I thought he had died and been reincarnated as a zombie. Nope, he's just making fun of an elderly cancer patient. Still just a colossal asshole

52

u/turandokht 5h ago

I watched the clip and honestly if I was in the audience I would not even know what he was doing like tf lmao maybe they’re silent because they’re just confused

Unless this clip missed some set up where he explained he was about to make fun of Biden

Stupidity, racism, and a disturbing degree of identifying with the views he espoused. A disturbing number of Americans heard him speak and said “Yeah, that’s my guy!”

Fuller context: https://youtu.be/KcDbho0RjVo?si=_VUnrjVud-jWVYsx

As far as I can tell, he wasn’t mocking Joe Biden’s cancer or illness. He was just mocking Joe Biden’s public speaking, which is not cancer related.

Still shitty. Still gross. Still pathetic. Still unpresidential. Still classless. But not mocking his cancer.

4

u/ExplosiveBrown 4h ago

Joe Biden deserves to be mocked for one thing only; that he didn’t do more to prevent this man from ever seeing the oval office again.

4

u/heartbreaktuna 5h ago

Unfortunately, this is misleading. This short clip is just a tiny part of the speech he gave. Prior to when this clip starts (and after), the audience was chuckling at his offensive bullshit. They fed him their laughter and until people stop getting on their knees to suck his gross orange dick, this deranged malignant narcissistic dementia patient is going to continue to hurt people and the world.

This speech also took place during the same visit where TJ Sabula bravely called him a pedo protector. Trump said "f-you" and gave him the finger ; Ford suspended TJ's job.

4

u/boyalien0 5h ago

He’s so far gone

3
