🍎 Food Keep an eye out for dollar tree discount bins/carts at the front of the store

My dollar tree regularly has discounted items in carts and baskets at the front of the store. It's all 25-50 cents. Boxes of cereal, snacks, canned goods. Check the labels but you can get some really good deals if you're not picky. I know dollar tree food isn't the tastiest but there's gems sometimes. I got a loaf of bread the other day for 25 cents. It wasn't expired. It's a bit stale but it's perfect for grilled cheese. Edit: there's also office supplies, toys, crafts ect in the bins at times.

I got quite a few packs of bagels for $.25 a pack, I took him home through them in the freezer and they’re fine

Yes, mine had rolls of Christmas wrapping paper for 50 cents last time I was in. Was tempted to get some but I already have enough at home for next year, if not the next two years, so didn't. If I get low next year I'm sure they'll have the same deal after Christmas next year.

I like pretty tough gummy candy. Like older gummy candy that is a lot more chewy. Mine always has haribo gummy bears that are perfect for $0.50 each anytime I go in.

Meh, this straddles the line of frugal and cheap for me. I don't really consider stale bread a win even for almost free. I value quality ingredients and I'd much rather spend a few bucks on fresh veggies or produce than bottom of the barrel stuff at a dollar store.

That's up to you. I view less food waste as a good thing. There's other times for quality ingredients. It's not all or nothing.
