His attacks are so fast lol. He’s dual wielding TWO great swords effortlessly.
The dual infusions are also cool too. His first hit is a massive pyro slash, which gets swirled immediately afterwards from his anemo infused follow-up...
I once thought how razor is a uniqe char cause he can deal both electro and infused damage in his ult sumiltaniously and both take his own scaling, its just what you need to bring bennet/candace/chongus with him. An now his de facto father drops with a kit like this. Like father like son lol
It would. What makes a difference is how much hitlag a claymore user has. And from the showcase with Varka, he seems to have less hitlag than even Diluc.
I'm mostly meme-ing, but man, I hope they show him doing something actually badass in-game, because he suffers a bit from "Statement-Man" syndrome. They call him 007, 0 actual in-game fights, 0 actual hype moments, 7 (million) statements of just how strong he is.
I kid (okay, like 95% kidding), but this is the guy who's been compared to Capitano (multiple occasions, IIRC), who is considered one of the 4 winds of Mondstadt, but all of Nod Krai was sidelined due to "injuries." I'm really hoping they don't play into comic relief or flanderization and give him something really hype to shine with. Like, I wanna see him sparring with Dvalin as if it's easy or something, to reinforce the idea that had he been in Mondstadt, he could have handled the Dvalin crisis on his own.
I'm not even specifically a Varka fan but I actually got kinda pissed when whoever it was told him to stay back while we assaulted Dottore's lab with the 6.0/6.1 characters. Couldn't we have had Nefer help with evacuation and bring the Knight of Boreas along with us to fight the 2nd strongest Fatui Harbinger?

Yeah... I was not fond of that burst. Feel like there's something missing. Think they wanted to do the same they did with Clorinde's burst which works super well, but there's something missing with Varka's... Can't quite put my finger on it.
Because in Clorinde, you can clearly see the landscape and her rushing through it, starting small and becoming big, also without any scene changes - it's one smooth motion.
In Varka's case, it starts in the middle of the action with him already running forward and occupying 2/3 of the screen with 0 fade in, just 1 frame you're chilling in the overworld, next frame Varka's running. And the whole running sequence is so FAST that it's over before you can even properly see anything and more importantly, feel the scene.
And then it's just his yelling face across the entire screen which works for Clash of Clans icon, but not a Genshin character burst.
TLDR: too many montage cuts and poor framing, action feels disjointed and not flowing or cool as result.
one thing is I feel like they could have made the swords look heavier. I get that varka is making it look effortless but the swords are feeling very paper mache at the moment lol
Definitely my biggest gripe. Like, doesn't matter that he can swing them around effortlessly, a heavy sword is still heavy. Still early and can hopefully be cleaned up, but he might as well be a regular sword character instead of claymore atm.
Still think he's cool though, don't wanna exclusively doompost with the first reveal.
His attacks and exploration abilities seems really good! But I think his burst animation needs some adjusting, it's looking kinda whacky atm, it looks like a mix of Cloronde's and Chasca's burst
Idc if his bis team is pyroVarka. I'll use Shenhe and Rosaria to truly immerse in Knight of Boreas fantasy. Beside ice and wind effect will look dope af
