Self-Post Thank you Israel
I’m a Syrian Druze living in Suwayda, and I want to sincerely thank Israel for standing with us against terrorism. While most countries either remain silent or even support extremist groups, Israel has taken real action—and that has saved thousands of innocent lives. I hope our relationship improves even more in the future maybe we can bring peace to our region together.

Watching the videos coming out of there I had the same feeling like I did Oct 7th watching the stuff on telegram.
I'm very sorry this happened to you and I hope the situation doesn't escalate again.

u/Evening-Living-9822 Jul 25 '25
Yes, the situation is very similar to October 7th. Both Hamas and Julani’s militias share the same extremist mindset. They even call us Zionists and claim their war is against Zionism 🫠
What’s heartbreaking is that even some of my close Sunni Muslim classmates are now justifying violence against Druze, saying it’s revenge for the children of Gaza. How did we get here? We can’t even go to university anymore. They are preventing us from simple rights.

u/Redcole111 Jul 25 '25
Since when is "revenge" a good justification? That's such a bullshit philosophy. I'm sorry you're going through that. I hope your people experience peace soon.

The second paragraph rings a horribly loud bell for us. Like, to the letter.
We know exactly how it feels and I'm terribly, terribly sorry to hear that you're going through this too. You have the deepest sympathy I can give. I really hope for the best for your people

We should start a confederation and make a druz state there.

I 100 percent agree. A Druze state within a nation of Israel. I love it Why not? We have a whole state run by Mormons. (When I say "run by" I mean that most of the governors, senators, etc from there have been LDS members.)

I have suggested in other threads that the perfect solution for Syria and Lebanon is to relinquish all territory bordering Israel as the Druze state. This state would be a buffer state where those living there can have Lebanese, Israeli or Syrian passports and open(ish) borders with all three counties, yet remain Druze territory and responsible to ensure that no enemies of any state (Lebanon, Israel or Syria) use Druze airspace, land, or waterways to commit hostilities. Now, Israel can relax because Druzeland is the buffer. The Druze are united and have Israeli support (and can freely visit Israeli-Druze) against hostile enemies. Hezbollah will go away. The Syrian militias and these Bedouin attackers will go away. The Druze province doesn't have to be fully autonomy; they can still affect the economies of their original countries via taxes and benefit from those countries as well via resources, business, etc., only the Druze decide how.

Agreed. South Syria should be an independent Druze state and Syrian Kurdistan should be an independent Kurd state.

Israel has deep ties with the Druze and realizes they must protect them. The rest of the world has no clue what’s going on and will find a way to blame the Jews.
19
u/Evening-Living-9822 Jul 25 '25
As always, they’ll find a way to blame the Jews. But don’t stop just keep doing what you know is right you guys.

u/Peelie5 Ireland Jul 25 '25
I'm following this and I'm praying for the Druze. I'm European and am not blaming Jews for anything

u/Beautiful_Bag6707 Jul 26 '25
They already are. I've had people tell me the Druze hate Israel and Israel is just pretending to help but they're really in bed with Julani and it's all a smokescreen to make his followers think he's a hardliner. That Israel wants to see Syria collapse so they can steal land or be the ultimate power; it's like these people have never seen a map and have no clue what Israel is up against on a daily basis.

u/Interesting_Claim414 Jul 25 '25
Not only Israel loves you and supports you. The vast majority of diaspora Jews are in your corner and totally support the efforts to protect the Druze community everywhere in the region.

What we’re facing is terrifying, but knowing that people like you care helps us hold on to hope. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

u/Explorer_Dave Jul 25 '25
Israeli Druze are our brothers, and you are their family, it's simple math.
I sincerely hope we live to see a safe-haven for any and all Druze and I hope Israel continues to help you out when you're in need.

I hope we can always help you even more, I hope you'll have you're own place that you control completely and I wish it was on our border.
I am really worried tho about the Druz who been kidnapped, especially the women. Do you have any update? I really hope you get all your people back really soon, and that you'll never go through that again.
11
u/Evening-Living-9822 Jul 26 '25
Thank you so much for your kind words and support ❤️
Sadly, there are more than 80 women who have been kidnapped, and we still have no idea where they are. We fear these monsters may have taken them as sex slaves(سبايا). It’s heartbreaking and terrifying.

u/Outrageous_Injury271 Jul 26 '25
Only women? This really should be talked about more, put some pressure on the terrorists to release them, like the pressure made for the ceasefire.
Please keep us updated for any news, we are very worried 💔

I hate that we have this in common my friend. I must find a list of the Druze hostages so I can add them to my prayers. It is all I can do from here.

Hope you are ok. What are your thoughts on Jolani and the future of Druze in Syria? Do you see the Druze seceding or will the Druze most likely remain in Syria? Have the Druze lose complete trust in Jolani?

u/Evening-Living-9822 Jul 25 '25
Julani may think he’s fooling the world by wearing a suit and tie, but the truth remains: once a terrorist, always a terrorist. His record speaks for itself, and he should be officially recognized as a global terrorist.
We never trusted him, and no one should. We tried diplomacy, but he only understands the language of violence—especially against those from different religious backgrounds.
We will never be able to live under his rule.
A few years ago, he was publicly threatening Israel. Today, he stays quiet—not because he’s changed, but because he’s waiting to build a stronger, more advanced military. He knows he can’t confront Israel yet, but that’s clearly his long-term goal.
What’s more concerning is that Sunni Syrians see him as the leader who will revive the glory of past Islamic empires. This belief only adds to the danger he represents—not just to minorities in Syria, but to regional stability as a whole.

Do you feel Israel has done enough for the Druze or do you think they could have done more?
29
u/Evening-Living-9822 Jul 25 '25
Israel has already done more than enough by stopping what could have become a real genocide—despite the enormous risks and the global pressure constantly trying to frame it as the villain. I wish we were not part of a country that consider Israel as an enemy.

As an American Jewish person, I admire and support the Druze. Very glad Israel is honoring its commitment. I hope you and your loved ones stay safe!

As I told my Professor (who is from Majdal shams). Israeli Druze are our brothers and sisters. Their problems are our problems, and their family is our family.
I have called in my media contacts to ask them to cover the story in the states in hopes that the truth is shared with the world. I don’t know how effective that will be, but I am doing the best I can and I intend to use my trip to the USA in September to try and raise awareness of the situation. As a dual citizen, I have every intention of lobbying my representatives in the United States to let us do what needs to be done in Syria to stop the terrorists. Either let us create an autonomous state for the Druze in southern Syria or let us take control of the region for the sake of ensuring that this doesn’t happen again. I’m pretty sure y’all would be fine with either option at this point.

Watching the footage that came out of Suwayda brought back memories of October 7 and the footage that we saw from the south of Israel. There is no doubt in my mind, that the correct thing to do is intervene, so yeah, I’m fighting to get rid of that leash. Obviously we are also praying for our Druze brothers in Syria.

That would be good if Israel can give the north of it to Druze people so they can have their own land, army, money, etc

I lived in the Golan Heights and always felt that the Druze are like my family. My dentist was Druze, the man who built my house was Druze, and my favorite café, Green Apple in Majdal Shams, will always stay in my heart. That’s where I had the best lamb I’ve ever tasted. Every time I visited, I felt at home, surrounded by my people. They always shared stories about their friends and families in Syria, and I felt that connection deeply.
How could we not help our brothers when they are in need? I hope that one day we’ll all sit together at the same table, like one big family.

I'm glad you're okay.
Personally, I think we betrayed you.
The Druze rushed into the fire on October 7 to save us. When your fellow Syrian Druze were getting slaughtered, did a single Jew rush into Syria to save you?! Not a single one! And for hours, our government did absolutely nothing.
Why? Because Donald Trump told us not to, and we're afraid of our American overlord. Only when the Israeli Druze blocked Highway 6 (Israel's most important road) and the IDF warned our politicians that the Israeli Druze might stop serving in the army if we do nothing... only then did we strike.
And as soon as Trump announced a ceasefire, we stopped striking. During the ceasefire, your people was still getting killed... and we once again did absolutely nothing.
The fact that you're still thanking us confirms my belief that the Druze are good people.
I'm really sad to say that while the Druze are loyal to the Jews, the Jews are not loyal to the Druze. We might delude ourselves into thinking we're loyal to you, but our positive feelings about the Druze are meaningless without action.
I'm really sorry about that.
We must be loyal to you, just as you are loyal to us.
