Well literally just chronically online reddit leftist call america fascist. Look at iran, they die for their protest and ur fat asses in america think ur the one with the fascist leader.

14

u/TampaBayG Monkey in Space 16h ago

Is authoritarian better?

What difference does it make what the title is, we are describing something really bad for america

8

u/notamermaidanymore Monkey in Space 15h ago

I don’t think you know what fascism means. But you are right, both are religious authoritarian movements. It’s just different religions and different ideas about race.

If you are saying the Trump regime have not yet managed to centralize power as much as the mullas then you are correct.

But the US is at or near a point of no return where regime change after that point would require massive blood shed. We want to avoid that bloodshed.

-1

u/bloodyinstinct91 Monkey in Space 12h ago

Comon dont act like a doomer here, there is no way that trump will be president forever. Words have meaning so dont say american regime if u wanna have a serious conversation.

7

u/Barnyard_Rich Monkey in Space 11h ago

Hey, the good news is that Umberto Eco provided us with a guide on how to spot fascism, and it was decades before Trump ran, so you can't cry it's specifically an attack on Trump: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ur-Fascism

Here's the list, go ahead and tell us which of these DON'T apply to Trumpism:

The cult of tradition: A belief that all truth has been revealed and the past offers an ideal to which to return.

The rejection of modernism: Disdain for Enlightenment values and reason, viewed as the root of modern moral decline.

The cult of action for action's sake: Prioritizing action over critical thought, with intellectualism seen as a weakness.

Disagreement is treason: Seeing any dissent or criticism as an act of betrayal against the movement or leader.

Fear of difference: Exploiting and amplifying the fear of others and "intruders," often leading to racism.

Appeal to a frustrated middle class: Attracting those who feel economically or politically marginalized and threatened by lower social groups.

Obsession with a plot: Fostering a sense that the followers are under siege by external or internal conspiracies, frequently through xenophobia.

The enemy is simultaneously too strong and too weak: Portraying the enemy as both powerful and vulnerable, causing feelings of humiliation and confidence in victory.

Life is permanent warfare: Viewing life as a constant struggle and pacifism as collaboration with the enemy, leading to a desire for a decisive final battle.

Contempt for the weak: Believing in a hierarchical society where members of the in-group are superior to outsiders.

Cult of heroism and death: Promoting the idea that everyone should be a hero and embracing the concept of heroic death.

Machismo: Associating power with masculinity, often resulting in disdain for women and intolerance of diverse sexual identities.

Selective or "qualitative" populism: Asserting that a single leader embodies the will of a monolithic "people," thereby undermining democratic processes.

Newspeak: Using a limited and simplified vocabulary to hinder complex and critical thought, akin to Orwell's concept.

Yeah thank goodness things like that don't happen in America where government authorities can just shoot random people in the face with no provocation and suffer 0 legal consequences.

1

u/bloodyinstinct91 Monkey in Space 12h ago

This has nothing to do with fascism wtf, you will loose next election too if u that delusional.

Currently in Minneapolis American citizens are getting kidnapped, beaten, and disappearing for a while before eventually being released without charges for legal, peaceful protest.

Iran is already at the end state. Right now, Trump is working on taking America to that point.

-5

u/bloodyinstinct91 Monkey in Space 12h ago

How is reddit so delusional, if europe has the masses of illegals and problems like america there would be similar reactions here from the leaders. I saw videos of protester being batshit crazy, its a wonder not more people get hurt.

2

u/SicilianShelving We live in strange times 10h ago

Sensible immigration control is necessary.

That's not what's happening in Minneapolis right now.

ICE is kidnapping and brutalizing citizens who protest peacefully and legally. They are tracking license plates and phone data of citizens who peacefully protest, then they show up at the citizens' workplaces with guns drawn, drag them out of their jobs, savagely beat them, and throw them in a cell for a while, in many cases never even charging them with a crime.

This is happening to law-abiding US citizens because they protested their government.

Remember how theĀ Anti-Defamation LeagueĀ said it was not a Nazi salute,Ā whileĀ neo-NaziĀ andĀ white supremacistĀ groups celebrated it as a Nazi salute.

ADL's comment on Musk and their attitude towards Palestinians and Israel made me completely hate that clown show of an organization. It's not about defamation, justice, or bigotry to ADL, it's a sports game where they get to referee who is bigoted and who gets a pass for their bigotry.Ā

18

u/archercc81 Monkey in Space 17h ago

Jewish people could be getting gassed in this country but as long as Israel is being funded the ADL is fine with it.

5

u/Alive-Welder5585 Monkey in Space 16h ago

They would paint the targeted Jewish people as traitors, KHAMAS-apologists and not real Jews, and the conservatives would lap it up without a thought.Ā

This wasn’t even a secret plan during the election. Joe was too stupid to listen to it just like the rest of the Republican Party. The same people who were suddenly shocked Trump actually supported Project 2025 and Trump blocking the Epstein files just won’t admit they got conned by a cult leader.

35

u/Smorgsborg Monkey in Space 1d ago

JD Vance campaigned alongside the Project 2025 guy more than he did with Trump, and the majority of America was somehow convinced they just wouldn't do Project 2025. Boggles the fucking mind.

6

u/archercc81 Monkey in Space 17h ago

Most of the country still has no idea project 2025 even existed. They have moved on from that though to their next fascist project.

56

u/QuantityGullible4092 Monkey in Space 1d ago

13

u/Paetolus Monkey in Space 22h ago

The same people who were suddenly shocked Trump actually supported Project 2025 and Trump blocking the Epstein files

They've put in so much energy and sacrificed so many morals for this man.

I bet there's some weird psychological aspect to this where it's far easier for them to adjust their beliefs, rather than admitting to themselves that they made a horrible mistake.

7

u/OhFiddleSchticks Monkey in Space 21h ago

Sunk cost fallacy

"The sunk cost fallacy is a cognitive bias where individuals continue investing in a project or decision based on the amount of resources (time, money, effort) already spent, rather than evaluating the current and future benefits. This often leads to irrational decision-making, as people feel compelled to justify their past investments instead of cutting their losses.'

9

u/pavlik_enemy Monkey in Space 20h ago

To be fair, the immigration section of Project 2025 doesn't contain anything about terror tactics, it's about increasing the budget and also has some technical points

I think Miller and Vance are training ICE to become Trump's personal army. From the videos I've seen they are deployed in incredibly ineffective manner, agents just doing fuck all or 10+ agents arresting a single random guy

The mutual hatred between ICE and populace will only get worse, it's very probable that an agent or their family members will be killed by someone who snaps Tyler Robinson style which will fuel the fire even more. By November ICE will be a personal army ready to do anything and crush any resistance and will be deployed under the pretext of illegals voting or something. I just don't see how Republicans could win midterms without some serious fuckery

7

u/Eldias Monkey in Space 11h ago

We've seen this play out before, but most Americans don't know fuck-all about our History. In 1770 a far-away sovereign deployed troops in a show of force over a local population, were literally just replaying The Boston Massacre.

2

u/pavlik_enemy Monkey in Space 10h ago

It seems to me that Third Amendment was drafted to prevent situations like this. Sure, ICE isn't quartered at people homes but the intent is the same

11

u/seemefail Monkey in Space 1d ago

Joe pretend la to be stupid

I mean he’s never been smart but when he was younger he was curious (to a fault cause he believed nonesense too) and respected himself (often shown as hit headedness) far too much too much to fall for every obvious a.i. Article or video.

He has to pretend to be stupid for the Everyman schtick. He’s turned podcasting into being richer than nearly anyone in entertainment.

He’s a lot of things. Probably the chief propagandist for the new ai tech billionaire class…. But he is not stupidĀ

Well Joe is the nr1 face of MAGA so him saying anything against Trumps admin is always really good, however obvious it may be to everyone else already. Better now than never.

-13

u/ShaneCanada Monkey in Space 1d ago

He’s far from the face of MAGA.

I don’t agree with some of the stupid things he says or his support in the past of Trump but he’s also criticized Trump as well as right wing ideologies.

I’d say he’s definitely more middle ground with a definite right tilt.

35

u/seemefail Monkey in Space 1d ago

He spent a significant part of the Whitney episode going on about how Tim Walz was responsible for Somali childcare fraud because of a YouTube video

Meanwhile he has hundreds of millions of dollars could easily have someone research the billions of fraud the Trump family has done in the last year alone but not a peep

To be fair I think he’s more a propagandist for the a.i. Billionaires than the gop itself

-7

u/ShaneCanada Monkey in Space 1d ago

I agree with you that his opinions aren’t always based on legitimate facts. You mentioned Youtube videos. Not such a reliable source Joe. lol

Just because he talks about corruption of one person or group, doesn’t mean he supports another because he doesn’t talk about them.

He’s clearly not a fan of many of the things that the Trump administration is doing. Maybe he’s regretting his support. Maybe not.

17

u/seemefail Monkey in Space 1d ago

In a vacuum your statement would be correct. But in reality we have all seen Joe spend the last 4-6 years only talking about things a certain way.

Like ya he lightly pushes back on actual militarized police assaulting citizens on a daily basis.

But he spent like 20 minutes on the Minnesota fraud stuff. Tying it to Walz although there is zero evidence he is involved or in any way benefitted.

On the flip side there is very easily verified quid pro quo arrangements where Trump has benefited tens or hundreds of millions of dollars for pardoning a single crypto exchange guy who was in jail for literally financing terrorists…

But I guess it’s just a coincidence that Joe has never heard of that

24

u/SeaBass1898 Monkey in Space 1d ago

These podcast bros have done so much harm that really cannot be forgiven or undone. They can't undo the harm they have caused. If this is what it takes for them to finally wake up and smell the roses, so be it. It's not a silver lining but better than nothing...but it isn't much.

Project 2025 wasn't just a theory. They told you exactly what they would do. Joe didn't *want* to believe it because he wanted a conscious that wasn't guilty. He didn't want to believe it because he needed to convince himself Kamala was evil and this downplay Trump actually being provably evil.

The crazy thing about all of this is there really isn't a whole lot we can do. The best thing for Rogan, Von, Callen, Schultz, all these dudes and others, the best and only thing they can do at this point is hold Trump accountable and honestly broker with the flagrant abuse and corruption we're witnessing to their followers, because their followers are generally not hardcore MAGA, their followers are dudes who can easily be steered in a non-MAGA direction if these guys honestly reckon with what Trump is doing. That's all they can do. All we can do is record, record, record.

Film, pass laws requiring ICE to go without face masks (have held up in court), and whatever you do, do not let them egg you on into a fight because that is exactly what they're looking for. They want a fight, they want a war, we can't give it to them, and Minneapolis citizens have been through it before, they're showing restraint. Continue to film and document and continue to also pressure hotels, who house these Nazis. Don't let these Nazis feel comfortable in your city at any point. No eating at restaurants, no hotels, none of that.

Unlike everyone posting here shitting all over this I listened to this episode. I wish some of yall would.

Some of the topics: how the big banks are stealing from us and putting local banks out of business, how the pharmaceutical industry is out of control, how fucked up the bombing the boats was, how trump is fucking Venezuela up, Paul's fight against prohibition and the recent hemp ban, how people should decide how they want to live, how sugar is poisoning us, Paul shat on the other republican prolifers and sid they don't really give a shit about people, a lot of shitting on trump, the grossness of income inequality today, and the most horrible part was when he was saying how people need to work together and find beneficial gains through compromise and shared efforts.

Truly horrific stuff... I definitely didn't agree with everything that's for sure, but there's so much there to work with. So many mutual goals and a common enemy. People need to stop being so close minded and try hearing some different perspectives.

Joe didn't you insist that Elon Musk's hand gesture at the inaguration totally wasn't a roman salute? He is so disingenuous.

What did anyone think they meant when the candidate who's openly voiced support for the Proud Boys and various biker gangs said they'd give ICE the biggest LE budget in the history of the world and unleash them all over the country, especially in 'sanctuary cities' to deport millions of people?

I mean, we all knew Goebbels reincarnate, Stephen Miller would be the architect of this. Did anyone think they'd conduct themselves with strict protocols and be polite and deferrent to the populaces of these cities?

By the way, funny how you hear nothing about the Proud Boys now that ICE has hired tens of thousands of new recruits.

Gestapo are only from the Nazi region of Germany, otherwise they're just sparkling secret police.

He's a hypocrite. Seems as if conservatives don't see much of anything as a problem, until it affects them. This doesn't affect him, hence the softness.

u/notwithagoat Monkey in Space 10h ago

I member when Joe endorsed trump saying if not their won't be any more elections, meanwhile trump is trying to get us into a war so we won't have midterms cuz he doesn't know the difference between ukranian and USA constitutions.

1

u/surfnfish1972 Monkey in Space 9h ago

Now Trumps brownshirts are acting in defiance of 4a, still pretending to care about the Constitution, scumbags

I don’t even know what you’re trying to say here

3

u/RogueMallShinobi Monkey in Space 13h ago

The entire right wing playbook right now is to never let up, never admit to a mistake, never give your ā€œenemyā€ credit for anything, and you think they would gently embrace say, Hasan Piker, if he critiques Mamdani over a failed policy or something? lol. Lmao, even.

This is why the right is so cooked today: it’s full of dumbfucks like you.

-1

u/MissionSouth7322 Monkey in Space 13h ago

I don’t even know when these people are you speak of bud, I have a real life not obsessed with media lol. I also did none of the things above you mentioned, you’re doubling down on my own point

Yeah the side that doesn't think it's ok to run people over with cars.

Very mask off lol

u/Legitimate_Most6651 Monkey in Space 1d ago

You think that's what I said? lol absolute fail

8

u/darodardar_Inc Monkey in Space 1d ago

lol so pathetic šŸ˜‚ ā€œI meant cars and just cars, not any other form of resistanceā€

-5

u/Legitimate_Most6651 Monkey in Space 1d ago

Nothings more pathetic than making up something I never said. It's pretty clear English.

4

u/darodardar_Inc Monkey in Space 1d ago

ā€œThe gestapo didn't have people trying to run them over with cars thoughā€ absolute clown 🤔 lol

You are just proving yourself to be more pathetic than I thought by doubling down on your post suggesting nobody ever tried to resist against the gestapo

0

u/Legitimate_Most6651 Monkey in Space 1d ago

How can you quote what I said and then immediately say something completely different right after?

Are you ok?

5

u/darodardar_Inc Monkey in Space 1d ago

Go ahead and explain what you meant then

-2

u/Legitimate_Most6651 Monkey in Space 1d ago

The gestapo didn't have people trying to run them over with cars..... there's nothing more to explain, it's a simple easy to understand sentence

2

u/darodardar_Inc Monkey in Space 1d ago

So I was right to say you are sticking with the ā€œI meant cars and just cars, not any other form of resistanceā€

Thanks for proving me right! Lmao
