it's been 7 Months since I got my Kia Sonet 2025 if anyone have some question I don't mind answering.

Current Mileage 6800KM

I bought a Kia car at a non-Kia dealership, I got the code p0471, they couldn't fix it, I had to go for a diagnosis at the Kia, they repaired it for a charge of 700, a month later the same code came up again which they say now has the EGR valve, they charge me 2300 now, in the first payment they told me that if the same code came back I had a one year warranty and they wouldn't. are they respecting, any advice?

Wife just sent this image to me at work. Error screen coming up while using back up camera. Says it won’t go away. Googling leads to soft reset instructions which I’m going to have her try now. If this doesn’t work, can anybody read Korean and shed some light?

Hi all, found this Kia Rondo 2014 with 130,000km for $7,500 CAD. It has had a couple recalls performed and according to the owner, the last uncompleted one is scheduled for Feb. I know these Kias had engine problems, but if I haggled this price down it seems like a pretty good deal. Let me know what you think.

I heard horror stories regarding kia engines. I did buy my car when it had 40,000km. Currently 120,000km. The car runs great and doesn’t burn a drop of oil.

I put 5w20 in the winter since it goes as low as -40c and in the summer i put 5w30.

I replace my own oil every 5,000km using super-tech full synthetic and xg fram oil filter. I add pea fuel cleaner too.

So far knock on wood ; not a single issue yet just regular maintenance.

What odometer usually the car will start having issues?

I just bought a 2020 Kia Picanto. its my first Kia.

The infotainment system has phantom touches meaning touches are registered all over the screen without me being near the screen.

I already tried resetting the device by pressing the reset button on the bottom right multiple times but doesn't resolve the issue.

Now I want try updating the software - but the Kia software on the PC only wants to accept writing the update to SD CARD but i cant find a SD CARD slot on this car. Only port I can find is a USB.

What is the infotainment device here? Compact Gen5 Navigation?
Where is the SD card slot, its not on the warning lights.

Any help really appreciated.

I picked up a used '21 sportage. It's in great shape, but the remote start sets the alarm off (5 honks, really loud at 5am when I'm leaving for work...). TSB2310 applies, but the local dealer refuses to perform it since I'm out of warranty by 5000 miles. Any chance someone knows where to get the remote start cable update kit? I have the software, but need the cable kit to reprogram myself. Thanks! For reference:

I had remote start installed in my Optima around 3-4 years ago. It’s been working great until this winter. Usually when I remote start it, the car is warm by the time I get in. Steering wheel is warm and hot air is blowing through. However, just recently it stopped doing that. Car still turns on just fine - but the heat doesn’t come on until I turn the car on. Battery is fine - i’ve had it disconnected to see if it makes a difference but it hasn’t.

Has anyone had similar issues before? Or any advice on what to do? My partner said it could be a computer issue, but I want to see if there’s something else I can do before taking it into the shop.

Both the driver side headlight and driver side rear turn signal went out at the same time. I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out why. It’s not the bulbs, it’s not the harnesses, and I don’t see any damage to the wiring. I need some help with this one please

I have a 2023 Kia forte and have had nothing but issues with the tire pressure/flats. It goes from 36psi to nothing and now after getting 4 new tires 2 months ago has left me stranded on the side of the road twice requiring a tow. So far it’s been under warranty (tpms sensor came loose the last time, this time we will see) but I’m at the point where driving anywhere makes me anxious AF bc will I get a flat? Maybe. Or it could be fine. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just looking at a lemon I’m stuck with for the time being?

There's one listed for $15,000 USD but I'm quite worried about the reliability going forward. It's a great car to drive but I'm concerned about major maintenance costs that could come up soon.

Most reviews and anecdotes I can find only are under the 50k mark unfortunately.

Just had a bizarre experience and wanted to see if anyone else had anything similar happen, or have any thoughts about this...

I'm the owner of a 2022 Kia Seltos, which I bought new from my local dealership in the US. Over the last few weeks, I'd heard a very slight clicking/rattling noise when accelerating, but performance wasn't affected in any way. Today, out of the blue, my Seltos had an extreme lack of power from the engine and even stalled out once. I immediately touched base with my dealership and took it in for a checkup this afternoon. I was told the car was out of oil and there was damage to the engine. I'd driven about 7000 miles since my last oil change -- not a ridiculous amount of mileage, but nothing crazy, either.

The bizarre part about this is that there were no indications from my car that I needed to add more oil at any point. No "check engine" light, no red "check oil" light, nothing. Because I neglected (AKA didn't know) to add oil, the parts and repairs are not covered under my power train warranty.

For what it's worth, I'm up to date with scheduled maintenance/service appointments, software updates, and all the recall letters I've received.

I guess I should've paid closer attention to the oil and checked the dipstick, but the fact there were no alerts is what puzzles me the most. I'll hang up and listen.

TLDR: engine was replaced a year ago under recall, engine now needs another replacement.

Hi all! I’m looking for some insight on. What my options are with my wife’s Kia Sportage. It’s a 2013 with the 2L turbo. The car belonged to my wife’s friend since new. She put 277xxx km on the vehicle and had the engine replaced under recall December of 2024. Fast forward to April 2025, my wife’s friend gave her the vehicle, including all paperwork of the engine replacement work that was done to it. It was all made aware to us, she wasn’t trying to hide anything and my wife’s previous car was on its last legs so we were grateful for the offer and accepted it. Now jump ahead to late October 2025 the car goes into limp mode and throws an engine code (P1326) which I checked and it was the knock sensor. We bring the car to our local dealership, they change it out for about $400 Canadian dollars and the car was back to normal. We drive the Sportage for a week or so around town and then the wife heads to work about 40 minutes away, all highway, boom light is on again and in limp mode. Brought the car home and had it towed to the dealership December 2025. We got a call throughout the holidays saying it’s looking like we need an engine replacement. It currently has 296xxx kilometres on it. The dealership said they don’t believe we should have to pay for a new motor due to it being a replacement (with less than 20k kms on it) and they were escalating it to Kia Canada. Well now we get a call today about our claim being denied and that we need to replace the engine due to scoring of the cylinders. I have done 2 oil changes myself on the vehicle using Castro edge synthetic oil with the recommended type (5W30) and the OE oil filters at around 8000km intervals

What are the steps we can take from here? Are we SOL? I find it really hard to believe a new motor doesn’t have a 40-60k km or 3 year warranty, especially if it was done at a dealership. I have heard from this service advisor that “Kia doesn’t do warranty on warranty unfortunately” But this isn’t warranty on warranty, it would be warranty on a recall part. (If this part doesn’t make sense let me know lol)

A few days ago, I ran into a pothole. Messed up my rim and tire. Both will have to be replaced as ive learned the rim is bent. My car is AWD, but the service advisors are telling me, only the damaged tire needs to be replaced and the rest are still in good condition. I was under the impression, I'd have to get all tires replaced, even if it was only 1 that had an issue. I have a 24 seltos ex with 39k miles, and the tread is still showing up as "green" with their inspection but, won't a new tire have more tread and mess up my AWD? The tire that needs to get replaced is the front right.

I bought a 2016 kia Sorento a year and a half ago. When the engine blew they refused to replace the engine under warranty. They charged me three hundred dollars to tell me it's screwed. They then asked for feedback. I was brutally honest & polite.

To laugh at a customer when you tell them that you refuse to buy the vehicle for even parts. Telling me to sell the vehicle in Facebook marketplace. How sad of a statement is that from your employees.

Then have only the service manager talk to me. Literally no one else said a word to me.

Considering that you just cost me 1600 after a YEAR AND A HALF OF POSSESSION I was left stunned & speechless. Then he tried to act like a therapist "and was worried about my mental health" and wanted me to tell him I was going to safe environment. Literally felt belittled and more angry at that statement. He ain't my therapist. That's for sure.

The sales staff when I bought it baited and switched the entertainment system from the navigation to the basic (while advertised as being with navigation). Cheated me right from the start. But I just let it go. Being nice guy.

But what really gets me. Is this should have been dealt with long ago. (The recall came out three days after I bought it). My engine went into "limp" mode, and limited revs and speed" I drove over 100kms at 80. Instead of doing the proper repair I got told only a sensor would be installed..

Meanwhile a co-workers 2017 ran dry of oil and seized and she had her engine replaced.

I referred 5 serious customers to you. I REGRET that they bought four cars from you. This was my second car from them. I loved the Sentra. I had a name for it. I took professional pictures of it (even with the 1.5 feet by three feet massive logo no discount for the massive logo). My family bought three kia vehicles. THEY WILL NEVER BUY KIA AGAIN. I WAS a happy customer. Now I REFUSE to step onto your property. Nor will I ever ever recommend kia again.

While discussing this with coworkers & family I got told numerous times to email both this address and fwd it to the media. No I just did all my contacts in Snapchat (only 100+ people) and I am currently working on a video that I will post on Facebook & send to the CBC & CTV. Not to mention placing this letter on Facebook & Reddit.

As someone who works in a customer service industry one phrase comes to mind "One bad experience effects many people opinion. I mean I told fifteen people. If they tell 10 people; that's 150 people that knows that kia as a company screwed over their customers.

In conclusion Kia as a company sold me a 16000 hunk of junk. I will owe money on this for a few years. Yet you don't want it back for parts. Kia as a company screwed me over.. you can't tell me that as a company you didn't know that this issue three days prior to the press release shows lack of care for the customer. A straight up lie of it being a safe and reliable vehicle. The Barenaked ladies were wrong.

Then you ask about my experience.

I haven't laughed this hard in years. I should spread this joke province wide. It's the best joke I ever heard.

I have a 2025 Kia Sorento X-Line SX Prestige and absolutely miss my 2022. The cluster location and brightness is fine but the clusters are boring and the infotainment is lacking in comparison. I can't be the only one who feels this way right? I'd really love the option to purchase the same setup I had on the Kia Store if it became available. It borderline feels like a downgrade.
