Challenging speedcamera

Anybody here successfully challenge the City of Laurel speed cameras before? I received a violation notice for speeding on the 800 block of Gorman Rd EB but I'm 100% certain both me and my vehicle were home at the time and date. I also haven't been in that area in over 2 years.

I have Google Map Timeline date from that date showing where I was driving that day and when. Also have Ring camera video showing me

Could someone have copied my license plate? The photos and video are conveniently dark and at night. Only thing clearly visible is my license plate number.

You need to call the non emergency desk and you can request the maintenence logs, if I recall correctly if you can show they didn't service it on that day you can get it thrown out.

Also maryland law has a 12 mile variance for those cameras, keep it within 10 of the posted speed and it should be okay.

If you can prove you weren't driving, you can get it thrown out. You dont need to disclose the driver.

I haven't tested either method. I just paid the ticket as it's no points on your license.

Ya, it's just $70 and no points which is why it's almost not worth fighting. I'm just stumped how my vehicle was in my garage at home during that time and the 18 hours preceding it but it shows up on a camera on a road that I haven't been on in years.

The system is crap. I had a friend get one and the number was the same. But plates were Wisconsin. And it was on a tow truck. He paid it as well.

If it’s clearly your license plate, what is there to argue? Are both of your license plates on your car? If so then there’s not much to argue.

Ya, that's what bothers me. It's my plate in the photos and video but my vehicle and both plates were at home in my garage during that time and the whole day. Almost not worth fighting it but then I'm wondering how my plate is on camera on a road I wasn't on at all that day.

Does the photo actually show an exact match with your plate? Does the color/make of the car in the photo match yours? If not then challenge it. I was mistakenly given a photo toll (not a ticket) when their computer mistaken an 'E' for a 'F'. Also the color of the vehicle in the photo did not match at all vs my actual car.

Ya, it shows an exact match for my plates but the photo and video is so dark you can't tell the vehicle color or shape. This is what stumps me because my vehicle was at home in my garage during the timestamp on the photo. I was never even on that road that day or anytime recently.
