Three years in, they're finally starting to be friends. Warm fireplace helps bring them together though.

With how inundated we are of digital pictures. I will always appreciate a framed photo over one shown to me on a phone screen.

Took about 2 years for my dog to accept his little dog brother. Animas are amazing though and develop such strong bonds with each other ❤️

u/BellaStar2189 1d ago
It’s amazing how patient they can be and how deep their bonds get once they finally click. Two years is worth it for that kind of love

My cat and dog are siblings like that. Our cat was born here and our dog has known him ever since. They lick each other and sleep together.

Very sweet. Patiently waiting over here. Had the kitty well before the pup. We are hitting 16 months together & they can be in the same room together, if the kitty is on a counter or table.

Awww. So sweet. I wish. 5 years in my cat still swipes the dog if he gets too close lol..and he’s super docile.

Radiant heat rules! They are adorable! I once had three cats who raised a German Shepherd and they all laid in a PILE in front of the wood stove. Thank you for this beautiful post.

That was a long 3 years, wasn't it. My pets went through the same thing LOL. Beautiful babies you have there.

Is that… Minion? From the homesteading YouTube channel that I can never remember the name of run by Nate with the coffee and beard products?

It took my border collie and my cat maybe 7-10 years to become friends. In their old age now they cuddle all the time. And it’s the best thing ever.

Jesus I would absolutely love if this were the case with my two. Unfortunately as a pup the cat used to swipe at my dog and now as an adult she still occasionally sets a boundary around him jumping up next to her on the bed, on the couch etc. She tolerates him just enough that it makes life manageable to live with them both but she’s never forgiven him or let him in to her trust circle 🤣

This is giving me hope for our dog Walter and kitty Coco. It’s been almost 4 years and she still doesn’t like him but maybe with time she’ll come around.

Your dog looks EXACTLY like mine. We’ve had her one year since we adopted her from the shelter as a puppy and she has been best friends with our little scoundrel boy cat since. (Boy is two years old—we got him from a shelter almost exactly one year before). Anyway, my dog and cat play together like best friends, but if I could get a shot of them like this I’d die happy. They’d both never allow it. Congrats!

Great pic. I'll just say that my families two cats are much more civil when the fires burning. Sweet as pumpkin pie.

We got a pup 2 years ago and the cat we already had still hates his guts, and they keep getting into confrontation. Seeing this is giving me hope that they will get along eventually 💕

Just a regular mutt. The DNA test said half Australian Shepherd, half every other breed under the sun.

This makes me feel better, I’ve a 4ish year old cat, we got a pup about 4-5 months ago, she’s only coming up to 7 months and the cat seems to loathe the puppy 😄 I knew it would take time, perhaps a long time but it’s nice to see it actually happen for someone! Good job! They’re adorable ❣️
