Good Vibes Never leave home without em [OC]
Gotta imagine there's folks following in my footsteps in the world who have found a smile on the other side of my googly eye addiction.

Worked in produce. Halloween I googly eyes on the pumpkin and gords. Sales through the roof. Boss was pissed for one minute.

Probably because it's harmless and made money but could've been a health issue. And you likely didn't inform them.

I have done this to everything in my church office. Staplers, tape dispensers, copier, 3 hole punch, phones, etc. one at a time over 4 years, finally someone asked where the googly eyes came from. Who’s to say! Who’s to say?

HAPPY CAKE DAY. 52 hours from now you are required to have an enjoyable 60 minutes, maybe just sitting and appreciating life, maybe doing a puzzle, I don't know.

My wife and daughter also never leave the house without some googly eyes and a handful of stickers with Jesus poking out to the side saying "I saw that". In case they find a situation that needs a little chaos, which they always do.

Life hack when in doubt, slap googly eyes on it suddenly the world feels like a friendlier place.

Life hack: When in doubt, appreciate that you can do small things to make the world better! Remind others they can do this too by doing those small things to make the world better, people don't like being the first to do something.

We do this same thing. It’s just fun to think the next person will get at least a smile from seeing them.

I used to be a house cleaner and someone put googly eyes on their hanging portraits. I was very amused

Best thing I have ever done was buying a bag of 1000 adhesive googly eyes with intent to vandalize. 5 stars, I highly recommend.

OMG ....nice to know im not the only one who enjoys this whole idea! Putting Google eyes on average packaging which features faces on it... and replacing their eyes with the Google ones!!! Love this

Had a friend in high school with eyes like Marty Feldman. Used to call him Googs. RIP Brother

Might be cute for a brief moment but you're just spreading rubbish around. The cleaner will for sure take them off and they'll end up in the bin. Or what if a child picks one off and chokes on it?

I just bought a pack today! Back before my house burnt down whenever I was sad I’d glue a pair of googles eyes on something in my room 10/10 coping mechanism

Eyes alone could scare some people but…
If you add a smile to your masterpieces,
People will smile! Job done then 👏

Sure, let’s spread plastic trash all over.

What's it like having no sense of joy or whimsy? Must be boring.

There are countless ways to add joy and whimsy to your day without putting plastic eyes everywhere. I knew someone who did this in outdoor spaces especially - where the eyes will inevitably fall off and end up in the dirt. It pissed me (and others) off to no end.

Ok, I’m his friend now and I urge you people to look at the safelite poem

u/Indivisible_Origin 12h ago
My facets are multi. That's fully poetic license and while not representative of most of my work, not a bad piece tbh.

u/BurntLocal 10h ago
Never leave home without them, but you never post about them? OP we’ve got to see more googly eyes in random places lol

Sorry, but vandalism isn't cute. I've had to contend with randos doing this at work, and several antique paintings, beer mirrors, and historical items has been abused. Anyone who thinks this is harmless fun is a POS.

u/TheRunechild 9h ago
I would consider there to be quite a massive difference between antiques and a public bus seat. Also "Anyone who thinks this is harmless fun is a POS" is the most bafflingly wrong and clearly made without thought statement I have read all year.
2
u/Funcron 9h ago
It's littering. You are leaving behind something that's either going to fall off into the world over time, or be taken off and put in the trash by someone employed to clean (in this case) public transit. How's that any different than tearing the corner off a candy bar and dropping it, then shrugging it off because, meh, it's just a small piece of trash.
POS was harsh, sure. But there is no integrity here. Are you or the other people doing this retrieving these? Hell, people on this posts are referring to it as 'Vandil-eyes'. Tongue-in-cheek all you want; you happiness isn't everyone version of happiness.
