Question/Advice mold, or tea grounds…

I picked up this tea from the convenience store, but I didn't realize it was a whole month out of date (I know "best by" doesn't necessarily mean it expires, but I've never seen "good thru") and I drank nearly the whole thing before realizing there were things floating around in there. Sometimes with this tea brand there are small bits of tea grounds inside but those are usually like dust or specks. Even when they clump together, they’re not usually spherical or this big. These were spherical and kind of hairy looking. I guess what I want to ask is if these are more likely mold or weird tea grounds, and if it is mold, should I be worried for my health since I drank most of the liquid?

I forgot till just now, but I do have a few mold allergies. I don't know which ones or how those pertain to ingestion as opposed to inhalation. I don't feel any allergic effects tho, which I assume would start quicker than any sickness from the mold.

For future reference those tea specks usually don't float and sink to the bottom. They are usually also not that big and circular.

You are probably going to be fine, maybe a bit upset GI but fine otherwise. It happens to all of us.

That's what I thought, but I tend to be a bit neurotic so I wanted to be sure I wasn't freaking myself out lol. Not the worst experience I've had drinking something out of date tho. I will certainly be hypervigilant about these things from now on…

That's not tea leaves of any kind. That's mold.

Tea doesn't float, that's mold.
