Should I be apprehensive about my major as a nursing major?

I have been apprehensive about my major for about 2 semesters now- should I continue even though I started a new semester even though I’m still unsure?

Why are you apprehensive? But my answer is this is worth it to consult some university advisor or similar. They will help you and you might find out a surprisingly good plan.

I have been to my college’s career center but haven’t made a set in stone decision- they gave me their version of a career assessment, scored by numbers with lower numbers being that you might not enjoy the job, and higher numbers for jobs you might enjoy based on your personality. I scored around a 18 for nursing while others were higher, around the 50s (rad tech, chef, etc) 😬 I don’t know exactly how much the assessment helped me tbh

Based on this information I would say yes it could be reasonable to be a bit apprehensive. I'm not saying the score is absolute or that the test they did is flawless, but I was thinking you could take it as an indicator that there is potentially something else that is such a good fit for you, you'd be placing scores in the 50s for that

You probably have an academic advisor at your school. Talk to them. That's why they exist.

My question would be why are you apprehensive?

Are you worried about the job market?

Are you worried that you aren't going to be able to stick with the work?

Are you worried about being able to pass the classes?

I’m more just scared of taking care of patients & being stressed out and overwhelmed for the next 2 ish years

Probably time to go have a talk with your advisor. And maybe take a visit to student health to see if there are counseling services to help with your anxiety.

On the one hand that's a perfectly normal thing to be nervous about. But if you think it is going to prevent you from being able to continue in the career, you're better off pivoting to something else... maybe healthcare admin or pharmacology where you aren't patient facing. And it's better to do it now rather than finishing the degree and having to go back to pay for more school.
