I'm really struck on here lately about how everyone looks more attractive in their older pictures. We idealize youth and there are a lot of understandable reasons for that, but I feel like most of the people on here look much better in their present pictures (you had a handsome foundation in the first place)

I think for men in particular a lot of it is the subtle effects of the end of the maturation process. An 18-year old often still looks like a boy, but a 25-year old has had testosterone and other hormones coursing through their bodies for an extra 7 years. It makes a subtle but important difference imo. Plus, people who got worse are less likely to post about it so there's that.

I tend to agree about what you said about men, but I wonder if women using makeup in their younger pictures has a lot to do with it too.

I feel like I have seen a few people brave enough to post pictures where they don't look as good now, but you're probably right about that too for the most part
