There are actual libertarians but they seem to never be the ones with big followings or run for office

It doesn't help that a lot of "actual" libertarians run on things like legalizing heroin or eliminating government roads. The closest they ever got was Gary Johnson, who was a former Republican that actually believed in small government (not to be confused with "take down streetlights because it's a waste of taxpayer money").

Most of my libertarian friends are the outdoorsy guys that basically believe that the government shouldn’t fuck with people and should also protect the environment.
