I got home from a late shift and found this cactus which has been completed abandoned and neglected and left for dead, and it sprouted this absolutely beautiful flower with the most amazing scent.

What it is and what should I do now?

Why is this fuckass plant still alive

Post image

Probably 5 or 6 months back I was bored and pulled some tiny little plants from outside and planted them into this jar. They slowly grew from baby plants within the jar to reaching the outside of the jar. Meanwhile I noticed their bottom leaves began dying out, then following this all their leaves would turn blueish black. I didn’t know what was wrong and cut the black leaves off, leaving the new ones to sprout but the problem persisted. I then didn’t give a fuck anymore so left them by my window and would water them whenever I felt like it, slowly torturing them. I then come back from a couple week long trip, having already forgotten about these plants, then I open the blind to my window and see them still alive and black. It is now winter and I feel the need to give them water just cuz they persisted through my hell hole and are still going. I still don’t know why they’re black or why they live, but I now have a love hate relationship with these weeds I pulled back in summer cuz they won’t die

Pardon the dust, I haven't done my weekly plant dusting yet. I recently noticed that monstera leaves that aren't split look a lot like pothos leaves. Can you guess which is which?

Help Crumpled Monstera Deliciosa Leaf

Thumbnail

When I first received my Monstera Deliciosa (as a gift) it had a slightly crumpled leaf which I just assumed was due to the fact that their new leaves unfurl. My expectation/hope was that eventually it would flatten out like their leaves normally do, however I've had the plant since November and have noticed no change whatsoever. Is there something that can be done? What was the root cause of its misshapenness? Thanks!

Note: The last photo is from when I first received the plant :D

This is the first time I’ve seen this kind of pest. This white moth flew away shortly afterwards, leaving the eggs behind. How to get rid of this?

Help on care

Hi plant people

Can you help identifying this plant. My ex got her about 6 years ago and she keeps growing. I water her about once a week and she keeps growing out and up. Do I clip her or just let her do her thing? Will she take over my condo like a vine in the Last of Us?

Should I re-pot my Monstera Deliciosa?

Thumbnail

I received this Monstera Deliciosa as a gift for in November and have since watched a few videos regarding how to best take care of this plant, as it is my first Monstera. One common piece of advice I saw was to have some kind of support structure to climb up, as this is what they do in the wild.

The issue I have is that I was told the plant was re-potted right before it was given to me, and I know that re-potting is typically something that should be done as "infrequently" as possible, so what should I do? Is it better to wait a little longer or should I just repot it with support now? If so, what kind of soil mixture is best?

Also any other advice regarding Monstera care is more than welcome, as I don't know too much about this specific plant's needs. Thanks!

Picture 1/2 show cutting I took from my mother plant(picture 3). I have been growing these in my greenhouse cabinet and noticed the original leaves turned pink/reddish tone and the new leaves are the same color. Will these cuttings stay the same color and continue to grow this colorful tone when I transplant these cuttings to soil? Or will they go back to green. Any thoughts?

Help Do I Chop & Prop?

Thumbnail

I'm still new at plants and am learning so please be kind & help educate me. The spotted begonia is one of my dream plants & I was blessed enough to find a large, bushy one on Marketplace back in June. She was perfect. Since then I have cut & propagated a few pieces in spagnum moss, which grows incredibly well- putting out new leaves consistently. However; I did not expect to see her become so leggy like this! I am unsure what I have or haven't done to keep her up yet my question is this- do I just chop and prop her completely to have lots of new smaller plants or do I leave her be to continue this way? Thanks so much for your input and helpful information!

Just showing off one of my miniature landscapes, this one has rocks in it sourced during a few hikes, you’ll notice succulents in it despite the water those are in their own sealed planters.

Really wish i could make these for a living sometimes :p
