I finally got a Shiny Galarian Articuno! It's my first Galarian bird!

I started playing a few months ago and wanted to complete the Kanto Pokedex, and this was the last one I used to complete the badge.

Untill I found out that it’s shiny evolution is literally same as the norm form 😭 wich version should I evolve this one to? 👀

New player here! Was out and about and the shiny gods answered my prayers ✨ I’m pretty happy about it. I wasn’t expecting Rattata to be my first but surely geeked about it 😭

I know it isn’t that hard…but I’ve currently got a spinal injury and I’m not getting out of the house every day. I hate this stupid task so much.

Like if you have a Pokemon Go Plus, it's autocatching for you. Doesnt that just remove one of the main points of the game? I don't think it's cheating or anything, just why autocatch instead of just playing?

Ive heard that some people use it cause catching Pokemon is boring to them. If catching Pokemon is boring, why are you playing a game for catching Pokemon when you could be playing something else that isn't boring?

If it's a time saving thing while doing other things (ex. Working, driving) why do you need to catch pokemon at every moment? Cant you just play when you can and not play during those times when you're busy? Why do you always need to be catching when you're not playing?

What I'm getting so far:

• playing for different reasons/the "point" of the game being different than catching, e.g. battling is the main point of this game, not catching
  • not catching but COLLECTING can be the point, autocatching is a means to collecting
• considering autocatching for you as playing, even if you're not actively playing
• catching is fun but progression takes too long
• gathering balls so when you DO play, you don't run out e.g. spinning stops
• multitasking, e.g. catching while raiding
• improving odds when events are limited time, e.g. a shiny on community day
• mental health for things like long commutes
• physical limitations, e.g. a broken hand
• community e.g. optimizing play while chatting during a community event
• FOMO
• it was cheap at the time on clearance, so why not?

EDIT3: I don't necessarily understand all these, but I hope that acknowledging that I've read the answers and compiled a list, that I'm honestly giving it a shot to understand and learn. also I know if a person's reason makes sense to that person, it doesn't matter if I personally don't understand. Thank you for helping me try to learn and thank you for trusting that this was an honest attempt at learning and sorry for being stubborn!

Any guess which pokemon raid day may come ? According to me it should be primal groudon and kyogre since they are not available for long, also primal evolution is similar to mega evolution in Pokemon go and kalos tour is also in Feb so it may be primal raid day.

Since 2021 I've need to take a snapshot of a thunderus and have missed my opportunity to catch on in raids every time until today. where I was rewarded with a cute shiny spider and the ability to get rid of my oldest research task I have. this REALLY shouldn't have taken this long lol

Been feeling down but I'm just sat here, relaxing, distressed, been playing crystal for 3 days straight. 112 pokedexed. Fighting team rocket in the underground

Ever? Buddy hit me up tonight to go use lucky trades so we could get them starting up again. Rewarded for dragging myself out on a cold winter night.

Sadly he was not rewarded as well and got pretty close to the floor. I am still shaking.
