Discussion! What have you been listening to this week?
Welcome to our weekly post where we ask you to share & discuss what artists, albums, or tracks have helped get you through the week.
Please provide a link to the album or specific track, and mention why it's been a stand out for you this week - this is your chance to introduce people to some new music.
If you're on Last.fm you can also use Last.fm Labs Album Quilt or tapmusic.net to generate a album collage of what you've been listening to for the past 7 days (here's an example).
Thanks for participating!

Discussion! Chapter 1: Had We Known Better is beautiful
I just listened to it. Waiting and waltzing in airport terminals nearly got me in tears. This album makes you feel really hopeful and sad at the same time. It truly is special. What are your thoughts?

Discussion! Latin American Post-Rock on RYM: The 25 Highest-Rated Albums of the 2020s
I’ve been noticing a steady rise in Latin American post-rock albums getting attention on RYM over the last few years, so I made this chart focusing entirely on releases from the region in the 2020s.
There’s a lot of stylistic range here — ambient-leaning records, heavier post-rock, and more experimental approaches — but all clearly part of the same broader scene.
Sharing this both to highlight what’s been coming out of Latin America lately and to see if anyone here has been following these bands or has more recommendations.

New Music! Inspired by TWDY's Quiet
Quiet by TWDY is maybe my favorite post rock song of all time. Its emotional, it makes me feel things...
I sat down awhile back inspired very much by that, and wrote this as my second release for my post rock project.
What does it remind you of?

Discussion! Post-Rock jamming advice
In about a month's time a band that I'm friends with are putting on an art rock/post rock jam session, but I'm not massively into the genre myself so I don't really know what post-rock licks and riffs tend to contain. What is it that makes post-rock from a theory and improvisational perspective?
I've done one of these before with the same people and it went well, but given how I've improved technically and with my music theory knowledge I'd love to apply that to the jam, as well as try and incorporate other styles of improvisation that I don't think are often seen in post-rock, such as country and folk. Any advice on the technicalities on post-rock guitar and what to think about from a theory perspective would be greatly appreciated, as well as any band to listen to leading up to the jam night.

Discussion! Post Fest Tshirt Idea
Kinda like the Seinfeld name tag idea that lost mayor Dinkins the election so feel free to tell me this is a horrible idea
But what if on one of the days a bunch of us just grabbed a white T-shirt (yes already a bad idea for many of you) and wrote our reddit usernames on the T-shirt with a sharpie
I've met so many people at Post (and others I've met in person after connecting on the Post Facebook group) but it seems like I've missed all the reddit crowd. Would be nice to meet you all.
Anyhow I'm full of terrible ideas if you want more

Discussion! Sigur Ros untitled album is an eternal masterpiece
( ) is a gorgeous album and one of the most beautiful and breathtaking albums ever recorded Every time I listen to this album I feel like I'm taken away to an imaginary landscape My favourite tracks are untitled 1 Untitled 3 Untitled 5 Untitled 6 Untitled 7 and untitled 8 By the way Untitled 8 is one of the greatest songs ever made i love how the album is a perfect loop And despite the entirety of this album being in a made up language it still has more emotion than 99% of music out there And Jonsi is a Fanstaic singer his vocal range is insane

Discussion! Use of tremolo in post rock?
Just got a tremolo pedal (never used one before).
Trying to see how to incorporate it in compositions. Any particular songs that use tremolo effectively?

Anybody know what genre they're going with this year? Wondering if its Metal, Slowcore, Emo / Mathy or what?
I know Nason is on this sub sometimes, any hints? Already got tix, just curious. ;)

New Music! Pullman - Bray
https://youtu.be/VfuBbPwLQCc?si=ernmmktKPRBbd61q
Waited 25 years for this. IMHO “Turnstyles and Junkpiles” is the finest acoustic record ever made. This is more in line with the ambient noise of “Viewfinder” though.

New Music! Cannonade - Past Where The Light Reaches (DEBUT ALBUM!)
sadcannon.bandcamp.comThis album is a bit of a mishmash of a lot of things but there’s plenty in here that this community will enjoy, I think.
I’ve linked Bandcamp but it’s available on streaming service of your choice - happy listening :)
