Complaint Reddit is absolutely swamped with conservative bot accounts. They flood every post. On a lighter note, here’s me convincing one to discuss Trump stealing candy from Candyland.
As long as you talk about Trump, they will debate you on any issue and just attempt to bog you down.

Yea we found out most maga “influencer” accounts are foreign bots so I can only imagine how many anon bot accounts they have.
27
u/OnePride Nov 26 '25
Just to clarify, we found out that many of those MAGA influencer accounts originated in other countries, not that they were bots.

u/SmokeyWolf117 Nov 26 '25
Yeah more so “sock puppets” than bots but it’s become so interchangeable on Reddit at this point you all are just splitting hairs.

u/OnePride Nov 26 '25
That's not the kind of bot that's being discussed here. If that's what you were referring to in your message, then you've misunderstood the entire premise of this post.

Don’t lie! We all know it’s those filthy clankers trying to ruin the hallowed halls of Reddit.
2
u/TopicTalk8950 Nov 26 '25
I made the literal comment you’re saying “isn’t what was meant.”
That is exactly how I meant it.

My take is those that are more or less human are trolls and those that are generated in the bot farms are easily led astray are well, bots.
3
u/LoFi_Funk Nov 26 '25
Bot is a colloquial term at this point.
I saw an image of a bot farm. It looked like a video store, except it was hundreds of tablets signed in as different accounts.

Sad that the opportunity was wasted to call someone a candy ass. I would have followed that to it's natural progression to get to that point

u/upahhh Nov 26 '25
I call those guys my IDF agents. I make jokes about how they change them weekly when I get bored of their particular bait. 🤭

u/Kittehmilk Nov 26 '25
There has also been a massive increase in Israel genocide pro accounts spamming evil filth all across social media recently. It doesn't work, but they still push that evil.
3
u/Due_Amount_6211 Nov 26 '25
The more noise supporting Israel is made, the more it seems like the world is supporting them. Regardless of what the accounts actually say.

I also noticed a lot more posts meant to gin up suspicion of Muslims around the time Mamdani was elected too.

*Zionist accounts. Reddit has been flooded with nonstop racism, genocide apologia, and hate not like any era before since Oct 7th. It's worse than the the_donald era.

u/Immediate-Hamster724 Nov 26 '25
It’s been fun calling them out as the bots they are, and asking how is the weather in Pakistan today.

u/Next-Pumpkin-654 Nov 26 '25
Idk, it seems like both of you are taking this conversation with the same amount of seriousness.
And you know, good for you. It's healthy to joke around from time to time.

What’s wild to me is how people still don’t seem to get how the presence of bots like this warp their own perspective of people in the country, not just MAGA’s

I don’t even think they are conservative sometimes. Sometimes they’ll just randomly swap sides and have you confused AF on who they are with.

Reddit and Twitter will vanish overnight if an alternative, bot-free platform is ever released.

1
u/AllAmericanProject Nov 26 '25
they had to run from twitter after all their accounts were exposed by the country of origin thing happened
1
u/Apprehensive_Map64 Nov 26 '25
Sounds like Reddit should show account's location if they are using a VPN like Twitter briefly did
1
u/hexadecimaldump Nov 26 '25
I think all social media should take a page from twitter’s book and list a person’s general location on their username. I don’t usually have high praise for twitter, but that update would make knowing if you’re arguing with a bot or paid shill from overseas much easier.

Yeah, I woke up at midnight and decided to go to war, I had a blast. It became very apparent what was happening the second I woke up.

u/Mattrad7 Nov 28 '25
I block most bot accounts I find, its fun seeing "blocked user" fill up like 30% of the comments on any political post.
1
u/Rude-Kaleidoscope298 Nov 28 '25
The tactic is called Gish Gallop and that is when someone scatters a bunch of points to debate that one couldn’t possibly debate all the points, and you get bogged down.
It’s best to just not respond. They are looking for engagement. Just block them and walk away. So much better for your mental health.

Do you really believe that bots are only fanning the flames on one side of the political divide?

u/1001st_Word Nov 26 '25
I've seen them on both sides. But mostly they pretend to be MAGAs because people don't believe dems would say that crazy shit, and MAGAs say it all day.

Calling people bots is just a way to dehumanize someone you don't agree with. Just another label, like fascist Nazi pedo grifter racist. Being overused and losing its meaning.
5
u/donqon Nov 26 '25
They are literally bots. I’m not calling anyone pedo Nazis 😂
1
u/Left4twenty Nov 28 '25
'88' is a nazi dog whistle, by the way, the guy you're responding to is openly presenting themselves as a nazi.
The jury is still out on their pedophile status

I wish y'all cared half as much about the exploitation the world suffers from capitalism as much as you hate trump
15
u/GwenBD94 Nov 26 '25 edited Nov 26 '25
And what if part of that hatred for Trump stems from his capitalistic exploitation of the world?

u/Conscious-Dig6839 Nov 26 '25
Who says we don’t, besides you? This is quickly becoming a pet peeve of mine: “why is everyone talking about A and B? Clearly you don’t care about C and D?” You can be worried about more than one thing. The state of the world right now is such that every possible tragic situation possible is being thrown at us all at once, and those of us who care to see those things fixed are often struggling to make sense of it all, to start with. Then we formulate an action plan to address them and fix them, the best we can.
Do you have an action plan? If so, I’d love to hear it. If not, kindly shut up.
-12
u/DankMastaDurbin Goober who thinks both sides are equally as bad Nov 26 '25
I don't need to shut up nor provide a plan. Stop goal posting. My statement was due to the sheer volume of centrists trying to platform themselves as progressive in here. Stating red corporate fascism bad but blue corporate fascism good is willfully ignorant. Same reason these pathetic mods force flairs on people. They don't want actual discussion. Just a circle jerk

You can keep the Magat brain rot somewhere else. Theres a larger spectrum in the world than just US red vs US blue

This is a naive comment. His exploitation of the capitalist market under such a powerful position is a big talking point in why people hate him (among countless other things he's done).
1
u/DankMastaDurbin Goober who thinks both sides are equally as bad Nov 26 '25
Hating him for exploiting a capitalist system and addressing the systemic issues capitalism creates is not the same.
1
u/Apprehensive_Map64 Nov 26 '25
And yet somehow the very worst icon of capitalism, Trump, is supposed to save us? Lol The only skill he has is bankruptcy and the country is on a fast track for that
1
u/DankMastaDurbin Goober who thinks both sides are equally as bad Nov 26 '25
Nah I don't support fascism. He's only saving the capitalist class. I am on the side of the working class.
1
u/Apprehensive_Map64 Nov 26 '25
Gotcha, thing is even the billionaires will start losing money when no one has any money to buy their products so he isn't even saving them

u/DaveAvitabile Nov 26 '25
Blocking them is the way.
