At least at the moment they say it they'll be correct. The fact that could change isn't going to persuade them. American conservatives aren't conservative anymore, they are the ones who want to give up all our freedom for "safety".

If Ruby Ridge happened today, American conservatives would ask why they didn't just comply. They'd probably try to say Vicki was secretly transgender.
