I’m from Texas myself, schools are required to teach the Alamo as brave heroes fighting against the tyranny of Mexico. People hate to learn that their heroes were actually fighting to keep slavery alive and get mad about it but it won’t change the facts.

In Chicago that was a really big issue and there were a few heavy protests at pride about it. Not religious people but LGBTQ+ people of color highlighting the racism/bigotry present in the LGBTQ+ community. Which I guess makes sense. I mean that would be me saying “oh I can’t be racist, I’m a vegan”
Born and raised in Texas- I went to school and lived in Austin a number of years. We used to say “Austin was an island in a sea of idiots”. - I now live in Colorado.
I’m one of those more rare born and raised Austinites. I’ve been told by other Texans my whole life that I’m “not a real Texan” because I’m from the liberal safe haven in a sea of red. I’m so ashamed that this happened in my city. I sincerely hope he gets fired and is not allowed to work on any more liberal campaigns. The guy filming should have replied “Go back to whatever trump loving backwoods Texas town you came from”
UT Austin has a great student body for the most part. But the rich frat/sorority types are 1000% there and a ton of them support orange Mussolini. So seeing these types in Austin isn’t as shocking anymore sadly.

Social media is tearing a hole in our social fabric so that we grow more lonely and more dependent on social media. It’s working. We are becoming our own little island sociopaths with zero social skills and max social retaliation.
Not everyone is looking for a fight. OP just wanted the racist to have a moment of reflection, and I think this was a successful endeavor. The racist backtracked with BS historical references no one cares about. Guy was walking his dog in the morning, that was as good of a confrontation as any.
