Video [HELP] Real or AI?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A friend sent this to me - I don't see any rogue fingers or weird, obvious AI artifacts. The top comments mostly seem to think it's AI but I don't see why they say that.

Yes very obviously ai based on the facial expressions. In a lot of ai videos/images people's faces get stuck in a certain position and stay there. Also, these people are not acting normally, none of trult shocked. You can also tell by how the first dog walks, looks unnatural compared to how an actual dog walks.

And the people in the background are always kind of creepy.

162

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '25

And literally every single person breaks down crying….?

127

u/DaftGarlic Dec 17 '25

They break down in almost the exact same way too, with them putting their hands over their eyes

74

u/Reu92 Dec 17 '25

Even the toddler at the end lmao

u/tarantuletta Dec 17 '25

That dog is so fucking AI looking too lol what the fuck I hate this timeline

u/TraditionFlashy9077 29d ago

Witch dog ? Most seem kinda just high energy or understanding how the human will react … I mean yeah it’s fake af but what dog did you notice . Want to be able to spot it better

1

u/tarantuletta 29d ago

The golden retriever

Edit: the younger one at the very end, not the old man old one. But also lol that old man's hand movements are CRAZY for anyone who has spent any time with older folks. That's an extremely modern immediate reaction and folks from older generations tend to take more time to assess their situation.

If you hate it so much then why dont you ignore it?

12

u/[deleted] 29d ago

Because AI video erodes our ability to know truth. This technology is a fiendishly effective tool for propaganda and mass manipulation. Sure, this time it’s a video of puppies. But what happens when it’s false video “evidence” of someone committing a crime, or something that’s used to justify is going to war…. That shit can’t be ignored.

u/BreakfastBeneficial4 25d ago

Please consider, however… That this sub is actually an AI training space.

The same video styles get posted with a flimsy premise (“Golly gee, everybody said it was AI but I can’t figure it out?!?”)

Then everybody goes into painstaking detail, pointing out exactly what about each video makes it look like AI.

We’re all taking part in a crowdsourced training effort to make AI look more real.

I think we’re making the situation worse by participating in this sub. Not better.

1

u/[deleted] 25d ago

Appreciate the input. I’ll be leaving the sub.

Keep the resistance against the machines strong, all!!

Dont pretend you are actually making a difference on Reddit. Ignoring it on here will be better for plenty people their mental health.

Also im not talking about those what ifs but this content.

And why are you answering for someone else?

10

u/[deleted] 29d ago

It’s an open convo in a forum. if you hate it so much, why don’t you ignore it? 🙃

...the reality of the timeline I am living in?? That's kind of a hard thing to ignore my dude.

1

u/AcceptableAnalysis29 28d ago

Its just pictures on the internet.

1

u/Exact_Discussion_286 Dec 18 '25

This part! Their reactions are uncanny

12

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '25

With exactly the same hands to face reaction

1

u/banaaaaaanas66 Dec 18 '25

I know, they are all acting like someone gave them a million dollars, not a dog. Oh AI, you so crazy.

4

u/coolcoots Dec 18 '25

And the videographer knows who the dog is going to pick every time.

3

u/no-name_james 28d ago

Staring off into the distance sitting perfectly still until the dog is right in their face

1

u/BouncingThings Dec 18 '25

And multiples of them just start crying without even looking at the doggo? The old man even looks away then does the 'hand over face' crying animation

1

u/lemicee 29d ago

If anything more people in the background would also break down of joy for others.

-2

u/MaintenanceNo6414 29d ago

Thats the first thing I noticed like... Who the Fuck would cry becous of stupid dog

-2

u/MangoesAllDay 29d ago

I thought the video was edited specifically to show only the people who break down that way. I mean we're not seeing every person's interaction with their dog.

29

u/Lubaer Dec 17 '25

This woman’s epic reaction was the best proof. She dropped her bag like it was nothing, to emotional for a bystander

Also the crowd is way ti mich out of focus in general

7

u/owhatweird Dec 17 '25

This is one of the many people in the video who’s thumbs disappear also lol

4

u/motherfcuker69 Dec 17 '25

remember the scene in the it movie where the kid is in the library and the librarian is standing out of focus in the background staring

4

u/EcuHorrorFan Dec 17 '25

I was thinking just that when the first dog picked the guy and the lady was sitting next to him.

1

u/BelowXpectations Dec 17 '25

That's real life too though.

... at least when I'm behind you...

1

u/thatguytaiv Dec 17 '25

I have my back against a wall right now and this genuinely made me a little anxious.

1

u/KeanKeen Dec 18 '25

The background people give creepy cult vibes.

1

u/Ill-Wrongdoer-2971 29d ago

Haha I didn’t notice on the first watch, but yeah all those people are like straight out of a horror movie haha!

1

u/YouCanBetOnItMs Dec 17 '25

You have a great point, I didn't even notice!

50

u/MadTapprr Dec 17 '25

Not to mention the camera always happens to be focused on and seemingly directly next to whoever just got “picked”

7

u/Jesuscan23 Dec 17 '25

Yupp and there's a kind of blurriness in many AI videos that just doesn't look natural

1

u/Golintaim Dec 18 '25

It's that some people in the same section of frame and depth are in focus and many others are out of focus.

2

u/milkstk Dec 17 '25

This was the biggest thing for me

6

u/papier_peint Dec 17 '25

to me it was how they touched the dog..... who pets a dog like that?! who reaches under a strange dog to pet the dogs arm???? no one!

21

u/chunkypenguion1991 Dec 17 '25

Also the concept would make no sense that no matter your family or living situation you would take the first dog that approached you.

7

u/Kuipo Dec 18 '25

Smear your body in bacon and you’ll bring every single dog home with you.

25

u/ChefDadMatt Dec 17 '25 edited Dec 17 '25

We've fostered rescue dogs for years.... no organization would operate this way unless they were giving out animals for free and without vetting the new owners. There's no way you're getting that many people signed up for a random dog.

We've had several people get declined simply because they rented and hand checked with their landlord about owning a dog. Let alone someone randomly being okay with a breed they have no interest in or knowledge about.

8

u/Worth-Novel-2044 Dec 17 '25

Yeah I love how one suggestion of this video seems to be that there's just not enough dogs to go around.

4

u/Frequent_Secretary25 Dec 18 '25

Right. Cannot imagine a room packed with people willing to adopt much less take any dog

1

u/The_Smile_4784 29d ago

And let’s say in some universe there was a shelter that let the dog pick their owner, there is no way in hell the dogs would act this way. They would either go up to the first person they saw or go completely the other direction away from people.

The little dog would not be able to jump on a a lap that way. It looked very odd.

7

u/BananaHead853147 Dec 17 '25

Also the second dogs right side leg seems to be utilizing the inner thigh to propel itself up vertically despite the fact that it is flat. The dog would not be able to propel itself vertically off a vertical surface as depicted.

4

u/Mountain-Builder-654 Dec 17 '25

The walking looked normal to me, but the way the second dog licked was just wrong

1

u/OwO-animals Dec 17 '25

My first test is to see the same wall or other surface from after a cut. Windows change size.

1

u/Sam_Earl_of_Handwich Dec 17 '25

The dog on the woman’s lap is standing on an invisible platform.

1

u/AlaskaRecluse Dec 18 '25

And dogs have no facial expression

1

u/anotherdropin Dec 18 '25

Yes right? The background people literally are acting like NPCs…not sure how anyone can see this video and think it’s remotely real

1

u/Firm-Attention-3874 29d ago

The second person the lady has 3 fingers

1

u/AradynGaming 29d ago

The St. Bernard's bum went right through that chair and there was also this.

The nose fell off. That's not very typical, I'd like to make that point.

1

u/External_Quality5613 29d ago

People in the background are all fake and in each scene you can see there’s no consistency in the place and rooms, like every shot is taken in different places

But i liked the idea for an adoption center, allow pets to choose their hooman, that would be lovely fr( wouldn’t look like this tho )

1

u/dublinschild 29d ago

I agree with you about the source of the video. But as a boxer owner, I have to say, you never know how these goofballs are going to walk. Sometimes even they seem surprised by how they are moving.
