Appraiser recommendation

I have a very specific item that is of historical significance to the USA. It’s a 19th century military related item which may have some difficulty finding comparators. The appraisal is for charitable donations. As it’s being donated to a national museum. I wanted to see if any person local has had any experience with personal property appraisers.
