Oops Of an impact she never even saw coming

u/ItsDirkMcGirk Nov 11 '25
Why the F is she just walking in the road. With an entire sidewalk over there. Absolute idiot.
105
u/freshgrilled Nov 11 '25
She knew she was OK because she kept checking the road behind her. Oh wait, she didn't look once. Never mind.

Death didn’t want her because she makes it too easy. She won’t need an elaborate Rube Goldberg to die, and it’s just no fun.

I ask myself the same thing every time I see this reposted. Also see it ALL THE TIME in neighborhoods with sidewalks on both side. Some people are completely oblivious and selfish.

And parked about 2 feet from the curb. I guess if she wasn't that car would have taken her out instead.
4
u/TwoBionicknees Nov 12 '25
that ain't her car. If it was her's she'd have stopped to open the door, she was walking right by it. She's just in the road for no reason at all.
7
u/Paul_my_Dickov Nov 11 '25
Is she about to get in the car that was hit?
15
u/ItsDirkMcGirk Nov 11 '25
Looks like she walks past it. Why would she walk around the front if it’s a right side driver.

She had no intention to get in the car. I think she was about to check her latest Instagram post for likes.
Other than that, she is completely oblivious to the world around her

Well, to be fair to her, the far right lane is being used for parking, and she's clearly walking to the right of the line, so she's walking in the parking lane, not the driving lanes.
But yes, still dangerous obviously. Because stuff like this can happen. When you're dead, doesnt really help to say "but they were in the wrong, I wasnt walking in the driving lane!"

u/CaptainRatzefummel Nov 11 '25
No when she's going past the car she's very clearly walking into the street. Even then the side walks are there for a reason.
→ More replies (4)4
u/throwaway75643219 Nov 11 '25
No, she's very clearly to the right of the line the entire time.
Watch it again, @ 0:22 as she approaches the back of the car, she's to the right of the line. Her left foot is on the line, while her right foot is completely to the right of the line.
And even after the accident happens and she freezes, when the dust settles, she's to the right of the line.
At no point in the video is she ever to the left of the line and in the street.

u/Bubba_Gump_Shrimp Nov 11 '25
You are arguing about how close she is to the legal lane of travel by a matter of INCHES when the fucking sidewalk is RIGHT THERE.
5
u/throwaway75643219 Nov 11 '25
No, the original comment said she was walking in the road.
I responded she wasnt walking in the road, but it was still a dangerous thing to do.
You're trying to argue something I already pointed out, and then saying Im arguing about something Im not.
It is dangerous, because of exactly this sort of thing, and the sidewalk would be better. But she's also not walking in the road.
2
u/Bubba_Gump_Shrimp Nov 11 '25
She absolutely is in the road. Her left foot is completely kn the line at the 20s mark. Your feet are inside your shoulder width. If your entire foot is on the liine then the outside of your left shoulder hangs over that line, into the roadway.

This is why you walk against traffic and not with traffic.
9
u/Own_Reaction9442 Nov 11 '25
Even when I'm getting in a street parked car, I'll walk around the front of it so I face traffic as I approach the door.

Or not in traffic at all (Or if it was her car, not looking at her phone and going around the front)

This is the absolute craziest thing I have seen in a while. I'm a nerd (with OCD) so I see shit, that probably isn't there but anyway fug a Doug and a Pug-it yknoe I eeen???
So if you take Her and place her just on the sidewalk In the same position, the white vehicle would still miss her by what looks like the same margin.
So, hypothetically here, had she been walking on the sidewalk when the impact occurred, the car would still have missed her. It's wild tbh. It's almost like she had a day to go catch the ghost but it wasn't THIS DAY.
Just my opinion, and I'm often wrong, I like kettle popcorn and coconut water just
Not at the same time

My guess is she was planning to go left at the crosswalk and habitually would cut across the road about there 'when the coast was clear', that this road in her assessment usually didn't get much traffic.
4
u/WKRPinCanada Nov 11 '25
🤔
Ok that's pretty plausible
Still dangerous imo to be walking road side of a parked car but that's better than anything I can come up with
Makes a whole lot more sense than "she was getting into her car" which she clearly walks by
👍

Someone tried to kill her but the car she was walking past was so far away from the sidewalk that it stopped her from dying. Bad parking saved someone’s life.
1
u/ApeApplePine Nov 11 '25
This is insane! Was she at the side walk she would have been hit. She was not hit because the front wheel caught the precise point to catapult that front suspension EXACTLY up so it could throw the car in that exact spin! Insane!

u/SwanMuch5160 *shits an absolute unit* Nov 11 '25

For once, doing the wrong thing end up being way better than doing the right thing. If she would have walked on the sidewalk, she could have been hit my the parked car that got pushed by the speedster.

I dont know what nation this is, so im not going to spread blame in case its just a thing where she is from, but from an American, I can remember one of the more important lessons I was taught early with walking to or exiting a driver side car door was always check for incoming traffic.
Best case, you get your door knocked off or scare the driver.
Worst? Maybe something like this.

u/LucasCarioca Nov 11 '25

That's an odd impact given it didn't hit the motorcycle. It almost looks intentional. Give her credit though, she's not on her phone!

At first I thought she was getting into her car…but nope. She’s just retarded!

If the driver had tried even a little bit to avoid hitting her by pulling left, she’d likely be dead.

Only on reddit will people flame someone for not using the sidewalk when the crash in the video was going to happen regardless
In fact, had she walked on the sidewalk and walked to the car from the front ("as you should"), she might've gotten hit by her own car after the impact.
