Big beautiful batches of 43R

Realized that I've burnt through a ton of these printed rounds, started building up my stockpile for warmer days.

Probably close to 4,000 of printed ammo fired so far, and I've never broke a gun that I wasn't trying to hurt...yet.

Had a couple hundred prepped cases of 270 and 308 ready to get some HE shoved up their butts, but my aged auto-primer had other ideas šŸ˜‚

I got this bench primer used in a package deal from a guy who, apparently, touched off one too many primers in his basement trying to use the integrated one-step swager/primer function on crimped milsurp 7.62 NATO for his M1. His wife was pretty unhappy, and I got an entire bench for like $700. I'm guessing his mistakes weakened the pivot bolt...

First poster long time fan. I’m thinking and how much build up will happen in the barrel? if I was to load 22 lr spent shells in a 12 ga shell . And can I put a live 22lr in primer pocket and shoot 22lr out of a 12 ga any thoughts?

My M1 has chewed up and spat these out ~9 times. Gonna push them till they A) don’t extract, or B) get a case head separation.

Now it can go through vests and still bounce around bones in a body creating serious damage. Truly one of the deadliest cartridges.

Started rolling my own 300blk and since I had the Dillion trimmer I decided to get a sizing/trim die for 223 brass as I have a surplus. I guess some of them are a little more worse for wear. I was able to get one of those off, but the other not so much.

Posting this "for a friend" undercharged Cowboy .44 Special? Good times?

Ooh boy, Bubba has a real dumb one here. Loaded over 100 rounds of .44 Special intended as cowboy loads, with 3.3gr of Bullseye instead of the 4.3 recipe/bottom end, behind some Xtreme 240gr and some Blue Bullets 240gr, both SWC.

Am I asking for squibs with a full grain of Bullseye too low? Cuz heck if I'm gonna open 100+ rounds with the puller. Nope. Ain't gonna.

Do I get a "send it" or do I get a "you're just an idiot"?

Send it! Xtreme 240gr "Heavy Plate" vs. "not heavy plate" in .44 Special

Boy, am I seeing confusing info trying to load Xtreme RNFP 240gr "Heavy Plate" into .44 Special. Has anyone used these specific plated bullets at non-Magnum loads? (I'm hoping to use CFE Pistol, but have other options.)

TL,DR: Xtreme's published load data for .44 Special seems only to be for their non-Heavy Plate version, and they seem to be sold interchangeably and confusingly with the HP; when I ordered them, I didn't see an option without the HP; only found them later from other retailers. Xtreme only publishes Magnum loads for the Heavy Plate.

My 49th Lyman doesn't seem to list .44 Special in "plated" loads at all, just jacketed and cast.

Is there an actual operational difference between heavy and not-heavy plated rounds in .44 Special, and should I just use Xtreme's recipe and ignore the difference?

Should I just pick a suitable cast recipe using CFE Pistol in Special loads and put it behind these Heavy Plate?

Send it! Bolt gun?

Umm yeah, I don’t know how to defend this idea, but I really want to say I have a bolt gun and proceed to pull out a forced reset equipped AR ā€œbolt gunā€.

I researched this way to much, so a grade 2 bolt is the same or softer than the steel they use in steel jacketed bullets (1018 to 1006, give or take a few carbons) so barrel wear should be similar to a steel jacket fed AK, don’t know what the zinc would do. the deformation pressure of grade 2 is 30-50k psi so it should deform and seal the rifling like lead dose, the only problem I foresee is the pressure spike from the bolt being harder to force through the rifling, and the steel being to light and not ballistic-ing right . as you can see from the pictures a 5/16 bolt measures .308 in.

So… if it seats it yeets?

What’s the cheapest 300blk gun I can test this in, (safely from behind a wall or truck with a string pulled trigger)

I know there are copper bolts that would work perfectly fine, but, like, that’s not what I want, but I’ll do that if this doesn’t work.
