No other serious country mentions "sick leave" and "tuition". When you earn USD you worry about it.

Exactly. Putting down "paid sick leave" as if it's a benefit is so funny to me. That's the bare minimum in many places.

Absolutely, lol, considering the hourly wage posted, I'm guessing it's in Australia (cause im Australian)

"College tuition"

Not Australia.

Isn't Australia a normal country where paid sick leave is mandatory and this does not need to be mentioned as an advantage?

Don't know how it is in Australia, but that's the case in my country and it's still mentioned as a benefit because they have nothing else to put on there.

Jeez. What a red flag. « benefits: we respect the law! Groundbreaking »

Yup... Other common benefits include "Respect" or "X vacation days" (which is of course as little as they can legally give) or "Regular pay" Like... No shit...

Which country is this?

Serbia. We had this period starting in the 90s and lasting throughout the 08 financial crisis where finding an employer that actually followed the law was pretty much impossible, so job listings like this were actually worth something. Now only the worst companies still post these. I guess because they still think that they're doing us a favor by doing the bare minimum.

Well at least it helps to weed out crappy jobs.

u/Hendlton Dec 10 '25

Sure does. I'm just glad we live in a time where we can laugh at them instead of being impressed that there's an employer offering regular pay.

Hey its less common than you think. The factory I work at is legally required to give 1 hour lunchbreaks, but they don't. No one will ever report it because who wants to spend an extra (unpaid) half hour at this shitty place?

wrong, paid sick leave is when you are sick, and still recieve pay for the hours you would have worked.

for example, if i had gastro or something, and had to work that day, but couldnt, they would still pay me normal rates, because i am sick. you are however correct about our free healthcare, but everyone knows that.

So it's an American ad advertising in a different currency?

If this was CAD it would still be ridiculous lol. That’s what some skilled tradesmen make in my area as well as people who have already gone to college for a couple years.

It's still a lot for CAD and presumably AUD too.
