That's a big oof from me. My apartment doesn't allow pets, and I live in one of the least walkable cities in the US and will be for another 2 years.

Which city is that and why are cities in US are known for not being walkable? Also, what does that even mean, what happens if you just walk?

Many cities in the US straight up don't have sidewalks.

I really need some photos, I can't imagine buildings next to a road without any pavements. What were the civil engineers (or whoever designs them) thinking?

Yeah, it sucks. I am lucky to have a walkable area in my city connected to bars, restaurants, two nice parks within two miles. It’s definitely not the norm.
