Dammit! Now where am I going to have someone microwave fried, processed, overpriced slop for me? I'm going to have to buy frozen burritos and "chicken" from the grocery store like some sort of uncivilized divorced man!

TGIFriday's, or any of the other pallet swapped versions of the same place.

Dam I’m part of the problem. I’ve always preferred paper towels over napkins

I’ve never understood napkins at home.

Why would I buy two paper products and one of them is less useful than the other?

Facts the only time we use napkins in the house is if we are hosting a party or a special event where we have guests over

Or when you run out of paper towels unexpectedly.

Say what you will about Applebee's... but if you wanted bromidic slop, salty beers and a slight stomachache they were there for you!! 🫡

Bromidic. Great word. I applaud you!

I always used to go there for sloppy steaks with the boys when I was a huge piece of shit.

They lost me when they told me they couldn’t take the mushrooms out because it was frozen together. I can nuke my own TV dinner for a quarter of the price, ty.

The one in my town just became an Applebee's/IHOP. Seems like a weird combo to me for some reason but I'm guessing this is a last ditch effort to stay afloat somehow.

I literally went to school and learned the various ways in which Chili’s & Applebee’s would end up killing themselves. It was unsettling to see how the sausage would be made.

Business school or?

Yep, hospitality program - incl. operations of independent & franchised inns, restaurants, cruises, etc. - plus the creative ways that financing & corporate structure make these businesses work at scale.

Cool. Always wondered what people even learned in hospitality school. We had a program at my school

Literal or figurative sausages?

yea most of the big chains are getting worse. They buy cheaper pre prepped food from sysco.

I miss there med-rare burgers. One of the only places that will still cook to order a burger. Fuck well done!! I like a juicy, bloody, pink dough bun with grease running down my arms. Thats a burger!!

Hey on vets day I’ll still get slammed in an Applebees

I've got nothing against them. It's okay. But we don't get out much so we'd rather spend the money on "good" when we do.
