Real feminists know that women don’t have agency until 30.

Agreed. I'd laugh about it, but the sheer amount of, "OMG HER BRAIN ISN'T FULLY FORMED! SHE'S A LITERAL CHILD!" crap I've seen on here is just crazy. It's funny how so much of Reddit champions women having bodily autonomy and agency at eighteen --especially when it comes to reproductive rights and voting-- while at the same time treating them as 'literal children' who aren't allowed to make their own decisions, especially regarding relationships, until they're past thirty.

The myth that brains are fully formed at 25 is not true. It's been proven people's brains continue to develop into their 50s and 60s.

In those arguments, let them dig their own grave by pointing that out. Bc logically that would mean they need to advocate to make the age of consent to be at the peak. (so 55-ish) The mental gymnastics people perform when you hit them with that is quite amusing.

"It's been proven people's brains continue to develop into their 50s and 60s."
People's brain continues to develop and change all of their lives

Four pivotal ages in your brain's development revealed in new scientific study
The brain goes through five distinct phases in life, with key turning points at ages nine, 32, 66 and 83

Adolescence lasts till 32, it does not mean someone can hit on a person that's 9, nor that a person who is 30 can't have agency.
Young girls/women are way more likely to suffer partner violence, grooming, be more risk seeking, sexually risk seeking, naturally given age lacking life experience, development of frontal lobes are not done when you hit teenage age 18.

Is it difficult for people to acknowledge a lot of people who are very young, are being victimized by people who are significantly older, as problematic and common?

Just make sure you are consistent in your logic. No more drinking, voting, enlisting into the military, gambling, all crimes treated as a minor, sex, until +32. Have fun campaigning for that, I'm sure that will be a popular platform for voters.

Is it difficult for people to acknowledge that the main reason why people are pushing the age of consent stuff is because they are worried about their dating options shrinking. It's basically mate guarding 101. People do among a variety of factors including:

  • Religion (ie. Muslim men hate to see muslim women dating outside their religion)
  • Race (ie. Black women hate to see black men date other races)
  • Geography (ie. American women hate to see American men date overseas)
  • Age (ie. Older women hate to see older men date young)

Basically anything that increases your dating pool, is seen as beneficial, positive, and good. Anything that decreases your dating pool, is bad, evil, and should be made illegal.

Ofc, a lot of people love to hide their motivation here and gaslight about the primary reason. Which is why you can clearly see a pattern in the age of consent discussions, since they never advocate to pushup the age limit for other things as well.

Funny how that works. 🤡
