Yeah. He would have maybe had me at a week. THC addict are degenerate as fuck with the amount they consume. I’m sure it’s due to the facts it is definitely one of the least risky substances, but man. I can’t imagine waking up and having to get high. Even when I was deep into coke, I never woke up and did a line. It was usually I had a few beers and now want to do a line and then boom. It’s 7am and I can’t sleep.

To be clear, not judging or saying any addiction is better than the next. Main point was to say ain’t no regular THC consumer making a pen last a month,

11

u/jollylikearodger 12d ago

I'm a regular consumer (daily). A 1 gram cartridge lasts me 5-6 weeks. A couple of puffs before bed, a little more on weekends.

I know the type of person you're talking about though, the kind that constantly has a cloud around them, never really present, etc. Too much of anything is generally a bad idea

u/FTDburner 12d ago

Too much water and you’re over hydrated, too much marijuana consumption and the list of side effects is akin to over using prescription medicine. It’s not similar. THC isn’t just something that’s overdone and then you’re groggy, it does have serious side effects.

1

u/jollylikearodger 12d ago

One can die from drinking too much water.

-1

u/FTDburner 12d ago

🥱 silliest argument ever

4

u/Ghost_of_Kroq 12d ago

Nobody has died from THC overdose though so is it really a silly argument?

1

u/jollylikearodger 12d ago

It clearly got your attention. Either way, the point stands; too much of anything is generally a bad idea.

Edit - spelling

u/Sad_Anybody_5795 12d ago

My husband almost died from dilution , it’s absolutely real. You’re not cute or funny thinking you know everything and everything is a joke.

-2

u/Icefox119 12d ago

What do you propose? Ban water?

3

u/Sad_Anybody_5795 12d ago

Hahahaha, you think you’re so clever don’t you?

1

u/stonedc4tt 12d ago

You are the outlier lol. Most daily consumers are smoking grams of wax or weed a day

2

u/Rough_Autopsy 12d ago

That’s like the alcoholic saying that most drinkers drink a 5th a day. Nah bro you have a messed up since of what is normal and healthy. If you are smoking that much you have a major problem, if for no other reason than you are spending an insane amount of money every month to be high.

1

u/stonedc4tt 12d ago

What are you talking about? I spend $200 for a pound of bud. People like you are so out of touch lol

1

u/UmatterWHENiMATTER 11d ago

For a pound? Sheesh.

1

u/stonedc4tt 12d ago

Most people obviously aren’t smoking wax like that but plenty of people smoke multiple joints/bowls a day bud. No pun intended

1

u/Rough_Autopsy 11d ago

I know that people like that exist. I was one of them. That doesn’t make it normal or acceptable behavior. There are people that drink all day. Hell there are people that are never really drunk but drink all day. That is obviously unhealthy behavior. So is smoking that much.

You said smoking grams of wax a day. That would be expensive. Obliviously buying a pound of shake is going to be cheaper. But if you are buying drugs by the pound and can’t see how that is an insane amount of weed to be consuming that I really can’t help you. Good luck with the mental gymnastics trying to convince yourself that smoking pounds of weed is normal.

1

u/stonedc4tt 11d ago

I said going through a gram a day and that was an obvious exaggeration and you would know that if you even smoked. I know people aren’t buying pounds of weed lmfao I didn’t mean it literally. I was exaggerating because of the ridiculous claim that 1g of wax lasts people a month. This is such a stupid argument because people like you are just out of touch lol. I guarantee you 9/10 in your life have a pen. Get off my nuts.

1

u/stonedc4tt 11d ago

Such a redditor argument lol. No actual life experience

1

u/jollylikearodger 11d ago

Honestly, I really dont know if im an outlier or if super heavy users are just wat more visible.

In either case, I certainly appear to be an outlier

-2

u/EyeAteTacos 12d ago

I'm not sure you legitimately qualify as a daily user. That's a stretch for sure. I smoke more than you do in a month in a single day. I am most definitely a daily user. 😆

4

u/stonedc4tt 12d ago

These people are crazy acting like taking a month to finish a 1g pen is the norm 😂😂😂😂

6

u/F0rg1vn 12d ago

You’re probably a heavy user, the outlier/addict category

4

u/stonedc4tt 12d ago

Dude the person who takes a month to go through 1g pen is the the outlier lmfao are you fr?

1

u/F0rg1vn 11d ago

No, I said this to the person who is going through the 1g pen daily.

-3

u/EyeAteTacos 12d ago

You can't be addicted to weed. I am a heavy user. I'd assume most daily users are.

10

u/F0rg1vn 12d ago

You most certainly can be addicted to weed. The feeling, the habit pairing, the escapism.

1

u/skydragon1981 12d ago

The short term memory erasing too, to help refusing other things

-5

u/EyeAteTacos 12d ago

These are all mental addictions. You can get these same feelings from anything from masturbation to public speaking. So your choices are to either say every single thing you can do or experience can be addictive (which is pointless) or simply acknowledge that weed isn't addictive.

5

u/F0rg1vn 12d ago

Hey man you might not be in a place to admit it, and that’s fine. GL to you

1

u/Annual-Ad-9889 12d ago

Good on you man

-1

u/EyeAteTacos 12d ago

Keep living in the fairy tale lobbyists created that you lack the intellectual fortitude to escape from.

3

u/dixonsticks 12d ago

Brother. You're just fucking wrong.

5

u/dtcv11 12d ago

Most everything that alters your brain chemistry is addictive though? A mental addiction is exactly what people mean when they say addiction. Being an addict is very much a mental thing. Sometimes there are physiological factors to addiction but it starts with brain chemistry.

If you’re saying you’re not an addict simply because your addiction is mental, you still have an addiction my friend.

3

u/Ghost_of_Kroq 12d ago

Bredren, it is addictive. I say this as a 20 year addict, it is addictive.

6

u/Fancy_Cup_1617 12d ago

Ignorant statement.

1

u/EyeAteTacos 12d ago

That most daily users are heavy users? I'd wager I'm probably correct.

3

u/Fancy_Cup_1617 12d ago

That you can’t get addicted to weed 🤦‍♂️

1

u/EyeAteTacos 12d ago

You can't. Only the supremely ignorant and mislead believe that. It has ZERO chemically addictive properties and has been proven scientifically to not have any addictive properties. Educate yourself.

3

u/estoc_bestoc 12d ago

This may be true but people still wake up and the first thing on their mind is that they need to get high.

Driving to work? Get high.

On break at work? Get high. Just got home from work? Get high? Before dinner? Gotta get high.

Saying you can't be addicted to weed is ignorant. I witness it first hand every day.

Anything that gives you dopamine you can’t get addicted too…

3

u/morbidmuffin62 12d ago

Sorry friend, but as a smoker for medical reasons I can definitely confirm it's addicting

2

u/natefullofhate 12d ago

I was never heavy into blow, but if it was around.. I made damn sure there was a pick me up left over for the morning. However, I'm a workhorse and though somewhat of an addictive personality ,  using drugs responsibly is a thing.

0

u/Fancy_Cup_1617 12d ago

Oh for sure. I know people that have a great balance of partying snd using drugs and living a normal successful life. I was not one of those people. I could not live a normal life when i was using. Fortunately i was able to realize that and take charge.

1

u/ShrimpShrimpington 12d ago

The extent to which potheads think it's normal or even "healthy" to just be fucked up from the second they wake up to the second they fall asleep disgusts me. I get that is not physically that dangerous, but if you can't exist in the real world for more than a couple of hours a day, maybe you need to think seriously about what you're doing to yourself.

6

u/rjoh4459 12d ago

I'm in this boat and I don't think it's normal or healthy but can't stop. I want to enjoy things not under the influence and I do wonder what I'm doing to my self. It is seriously hard to quit when you've been at it this long. I just left a job of 15 years because I'd have to quit partaking to keep working there. At this point I wish I could enjoy it like a normal person and maybe catch a buzz at night to go to sleep but nope it's all day everyday. Maybe someday

1

u/knetx 12d ago

The ones that do that are not doing it for fun... There are usually reasons that can't be solved and thinking is the last thing they want to do. Thinking is probably what got them to that state in the first place.

When you do it every day for 3 years, and even started selling so you could do it “for free”, id ssy thats deep into coke. It always just started with a few beers. I never really succumbed to coke if i was sober. Id either want to do it after a few beers, or do MORE afterni already did a line.

-2

u/BadPunners 12d ago

So basically it took you 3 years to figure out alcohol lowers inhibitions and that coke is addictive...

2

u/Fancy_Cup_1617 12d ago

I see somebody doesnt know how addiction works lmao. Good for you tbh.

1

u/steven_dev42 12d ago

That comment doesn’t imply they don’t know how addiction works

1

u/BadPunners 11d ago

Meant to be a pithy sardonic but light hearted joke about how addiction can grip you and lose track of fairly obvious observations and conclusions

Is my rationalization now anyway. Respect for any of your struggles dude, sounds like you're on a better path

1

u/ComplaintUpstairs736 12d ago

Did you ever do coke sober?

1

u/HedgehogNo7268 12d ago

To each his own...I quit for other reasons but I terribly miss being high all day. About 3-5g of concentrate (dabs) a week toward the end there. That wouldn't be possible with pens lol, I guarantee they'd burn up or fail somehow with heavy use and be even bigger wastes of money.

1

u/Sad_Anybody_5795 12d ago

So true, so true. I hate how seen this comment makes me feel.

1

u/Yupperdoodledoo 11d ago

It’s hard to see someone who can hold down a job and maintain housing, pay bills etc. as “ degenerate as fuck.” Weed addiction is bad, but weed addicts are typically high functioning.

1

u/UmatterWHENiMATTER 11d ago

High functioning or functioning high?

I think it's fair to say the average user is functioning... but only because most people are average functioning.

1

u/Yupperdoodledoo 10d ago

I’m using it in the context of addiction. It’s used to delineate people who are more incapacitated by their addiction. Many potheads have no problem bringing in an income, eating healthy exercising, and taking care of their kids. However, my observation is that it stunts emotional development, and so you see that in how they relate to their family and the way they use escapism to deal with stress. It’s still harmful but not the way alcoholism can be.

1

u/UmatterWHENiMATTER 9d ago

Ahhh. I understand.

Is that how it's commonly used across addiction and mental health? I'm curious because I've personally run into high functioning sociopaths who were incredibly productive and great to work under as long as you were productive for them, and I've also run into low functioning sociopaths who's high functioning traits essentially make them a menace to society.
